Blind date 1993

Looks good, no, looks great!
Yumcha lunch at Marigold's
Is fine till the chicken feet,
the bones of which
she spits upon the floor;
different culture different style
I guess - one, both can adjust.
Talk not easy but not so bad
yet I know much of it is lying.
Before we leave she orders
two takeaways on the bill
and asks the waiter for cigarettes
(which they do not have)
though I had sensed no smell of smoke.
Once only of course!
But later I hear back from a mutual friend
how mean I'd been with the money.
The occasional sour taste is to be expected
but that one sticks in mind.
A 'friend' of hers a few years later
fills in the blanks without knowing.
Shrug.

Bad poems should be kept to yourself.

That was really disappointing.

Fargo, poems can be good or bad as memories good or bad too. On this one, The blinds on the window showed too much light into your eyes....SM confused

recollection and recounting of a once only event, not intended to be anything else. No one has since asked me to buy them a carton of Stuyvesant and Two take-aways on a first (and last) date.
