The Root

the root:
network alive,
compacted labyrinth of tuber and hair
fleshy rootstalk,
rhizome;
ever-penetrating
elemental
growth

nonchalant
about expressiveness: leafy
chlorophyll
digesting the sun,
all the fluttering green.

a heave
and a birth
then the myriad forms:
eucalyptus, palm
birch, bay laurel
a grove, glade, and thicket.

we look
in vegetable mirrors:
see
artistry,
humility,
a subterranean organ being

conscious
not of fear
nor pride
nor even its leafy wonder.

Hi, RobinsonCrusoe,
Oh, to be enveloped by creativity's hand, conscious not of fear nor pride nor even its leafy wonder, being. Lovely. Thank you for sharing.

it is that which brings about consciousness before others, they not of the miracle, may only observe
