In search of the hidden, the secret cavern, the lost, the forbidden, A quest through time, a journey too far, to reach the unreacheable, that distant star, It turns around, when you look within, that place you found, where you'd always been.
Optimistic -- Reminds me of relativity and the importance of perspective. "A quest through time." This is the pilgrimage of our lives. We are pilgrims here with a job to do - atleast to strive "to reach the unreachable" as you say. The distant star, seems to me, to be full spiritual understanding, well as full as that can ever be. Enlightment, Christ, peace, love. I agree that it "turns around, when you look within," but I also think we should look outward to a certain extent, and this is my personal opinion only. But there is value in looking into organized religion. Practicing, not so much to fix and ground dogma and tell everyone else they are wrong, but to embrace a path, maybe a myth, maybe a reflection, certainly not a literal expression of truth, but an expression of truth all the same. It is in our hearts, but this wisdom has been contemplated for as long as the human mind has had the capicity for self-reflection. We just need to start walking. Trust our forefathers, to a certain degree. For each generation, each moment in history, the walk is a little different. The implications are different, the looming consequences of not walking the path are different. Materialism and emptiness versus soul and faith. Ego and selflessness. Isolation and fusion with the one, with the everything. Is this real? Or a bunch of BS? I say more real than the proverbial nose on your face. You poem is great, thought provoking. Is there a reason why you broke up the rhyme on the line endings?
I had to read this poem a couple of times. There is a lot of good depth there, and it serves it's purpose well. Your statement is true, all the answers are within us if we are courageous enough to look for them. Willpower, faith, understanding...all free for the taking when we look within. Good job!
