A POETS LIFE

A POETS LIFE
STEPHEN DUNNE
THE LIFE OF A POET,
ALTHOUGH MOST WON’T KNOW IT,
IS ONE OF FOREVER THOUGHT

THINKING OF LINES,
A THOUSAND TIMES,
THAT NEVER SEEM TO SAY IT

FEELINGS THAT SEEM WORTHLESS,
AND ALMOST ENDLESS,
OCCUR AGAIN AND AGAIN

A TEMPTATION THAT LURES,
TO FIND THE RIGHT WORDS,
PUT EACH AND EVERY WAY

AND AS THE POETS DREAM,
OTHER PEOPLE ALWAYS SEEM,
UNABLE TO SEE THIER CAUSE

BUT WHEN HE IS GONE,
HE’LL BE REMEMBERED LONG,
FOR THE WORDS HE ALWAYS SOUGHT

Very well said Tasal,
Every poet will understand this one.
