war

I have always been wondering
Of what importance is war
A justification of ego?
Or a prove of ignorance?
For a reason am eluded
And a meaning mere vanity

Once in contemplation
presumed we are like animals
lead to slaughter
For selfish attainment
Thus the spirit has elope
And in bodies we remain
For none is a worth
And humanity is forgone

Vanity remain a plight
For all in the present sojourn
Selfishness our hope
For thus measure our sucess
And our technology a menace
For it aim at self destruction

We are here now as a spirit in body
And to the spirit thus we belong
Hence we err as human
For our source is abandoned
And our ways are lost
Thus war becomes our opium

mubodj: a thoughtful and provoking poem on war. War may have a rational reason, but it eludes me.

Nothing dear, just an illusion of territorial staking by immature little boys.

Hi, mubodj,
Too often, war is the result of one wanting what the other has without mutually beneficial negotiation for it. Sometimes it is waged to fight against torture, oppression, death when the path of reason does not work. It is always costly. Thank you for sharing.
