Spartan Man

I have been a man of Spartan fame

My body all polished to show no pain

I conquered all in front of me

My scares are my beauty, no humility

I've never known or been shown

Love or mercy these emotions unknown

My sword and my shield have rusted now

All my battles end in pain

I am a man with a heart of shame

With clumsy attempts to show love in vain

All I do is push you away,so so far away

And why would any trust in me, a man with no serenity

I now ask for the greatest gift of all

From everyone I have loved before, please forgive me!

And so now I have love to burn, too bad it took so long to learn

I pray to God this lesson learned, I can give it to someone in turn
