The Search For Love
There once was a heart so young and true.
The feeling of pleasure was all it knew.
Through kindness, joy, and sadness it started to grow.
Immature as it was, it soon began to show.
That aching for passion, a lesson yet to learn.
Abusing this emotion starts the heart to burn.
Filled with pain and agony of distrust.
There must be something to do, to adjust.
So around you build this huge brick wall.
Feeling safely you will never again fall.
Never understanding respect, truth, or love.
Hiding from the answer that comes from above.
That feeling of safety is growing so strong.
Now to be only honest and never anyone wrong.
Then, like from a dream, she did appear.
And with just one word, erased all my fear.
From her smile there came such a glow.
As if to say, with me, it's time to grow.
And with each passing thought and day.
Sometimes lost, we seem to find our way.
Through all the emotions from the past.
I may have found the path to love at last.
