What I Need

I closed the lid and turned away.
Wiped a tear that seemed to stray.
Away from eyes that seen to much.
Sometimes it is all in how the heart is touched.
In this box that has no lock.
Is something so precious money cannot buy.
Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
That is no lie.
I have learned since I got older.
Things that once were just things.
Are precious now for memories they bring.
I don't need no shiny diamond ring.
A golden band simple as can be.
No big old house to big to clean.
Just a place called home to hold you and me.
Don't need no fancy clothes my jeans fit me nice.
I don't need no big old steak.
You would be surprised what I can do with hamburger and rice.
What I need is to be held.
Close by one who really cares.
One who wants to choose the right roads in life.
Who would be proud I was his wife.
One whose only seed that needs to be sowed.
Will be in the garden of love that we will grow.
Someone who values tradition and love.
Someone whose kiss that'll make my heart soar above.
Someone who will make a box full of good memories with me.

Hi, Proudamerican100,
Life as a box full of good memories...I like that image! May it be so.

What a beautiful, simple wish!
Thank you, proud!

"You would be surprised what I can do with hamburger and rice."

as a fellow-cook, i totally agree, why don't you make 'hamburger and rice' out of life, its easy, really, once you extrapolate the ingredients..., the outcome is absolutely the same, you're the chef and the beautiful wish is the manifestation, only the ingredients change..., happy 'coooking'...
love and light, and thanks for sharing...
