I was full of life, happy and carefree
One day I woke to find my body wasn’t me..

I looked out at the world and dreamt of that day
That I thought would always stay..

Times that was good and I could pretend
My life was so full of joy and it wouldn’t end..

I struggle to walk or hold you tight
Hoping my mind will always stay right..

My heart reaches out even if my hands can not
Feelings and tears of what my life has got..

People stop and now look at me
Not understanding or knowing how it can be...

I close my eyes and get lost it my past
It all went by so very fast..

A cage I live in, my body I’m locked inside
The world of pain I cannot hide...

Give thanks of your life so free
Remember that you could be me..
