My heart wanders, searching, searching for something, someone. It has felt pain, so much pain and now limps like a wounded deer, seeking relief and healing. Faith buries itself deep within, afraid to rise one more time. What was that? Is it my heart, straining to hear your heart calling to mine, asking me to believe? Why should I trust you, only to feel great pain once again? Should I turn and run or put my heart out there one more time?

About this poem:
The pain of lost love sometimes makes us hesitant to trust one more time. Hopefully, time brings healing and we step out there once again to find the love we seek.
It can be so hard to bounce back after a significant loss, and so natural to question whether or not to remain open.
Despite the questions, the very fact that they are even asked seems to suggest hope.
May you know Love once more

I felt the same way too never was able to trust anyone after my break up & and kept the light in my hearts' window burning hoping he'd find his way back, but finally he went beyond my reach. Now I have found real love.Hope someday you will find love too my dear moonbeam.God bless you.
My heartfelt thanks to those who posted a comment. I have stepped out there again and I'm just beginning to believe in my judgment once more. For too long I took one step forward and two stepsa back. Reading and writing poetry is such a wonderful way to release feelings, happy or sad. I have read the poetry that many of you have written and I thank you for your sharing ways. I'm grateful I discovered this part of "Connecting Singles."

Thankyou,I enjoyed your poem, welcome to Poets Corner, I hope you are happy here, it is full of very nice people.....Andrew....xxx
Thank you, Andrew for your welcome. I, too, have found the people in Poets' Corner to be very considerate and interesting people. Although I have always enjoyed writing poetry, my first love, I began writing novels last year and my second novel will be out the first week in September of 2010. I got a late start in that area but I am thoruoughly enjoying working in a new form for me. I plan to check out your work on line. Thanks for sharing that info.
mymoonbeam, what wonderful name! welcome my friend,
It is such difficult road when one has feelings of loss, your write encaptures this deeply. "Do not look for what is lost", but spring forth and wake to a new dawn of the day, because as we direct our thoughts to a different way, no one then will stand in your way. Love Sophia
