The passing of my friend.

The day has come and passed,
When he said his final goodbye.
The pain we felt for him,
Was a flyspeck,
He felt for us.
But the love...
It was a bond no one else could share.
I would scratch his back,
Never asking him to scratch mine.
When the time came
To say adieu,
He was ready to enter the gates.
Surprisingly, I was ready to let him.
To this day, I talk to him almost every night,
Just to remember his smile.

About this poem:
Wrote November 28, 2007
This is a tribute to my best friend of 11 years Brownie Junior, aka BJ. He was not just some dog, or some mutt, but he was always there to listen to my problems. When the time came, it was so vary hard to let him go. But I had to remember, he was going to be with Casey once again, and run around heaven.

We love you boy, we miss you!

Hi, StonedxDragon,
I would scratch his back, Never asking him to scratch mine is the sign of the true and abiding bond of love between best friends. To BJ's memory, a very tender write.
Thank you gnj4u! That means a lot!
I am so sorry for the loss of your best friend. I lost mine last year after 13 years of the most incredible bond I've ever had. It devastated me. He was my angel & watched over me. We were inseparable from the time I brought him home.
Thank goodness, Kiba went "gently into that good night." But, I have the comfort of knowing he is now in the Light, & that we will be together again.

My sincere condolences. sad flower
