Prejudice

Prejudice is generated thoughts given strength by a folly of feelings and actions sometimes confirmed by differences, personal experiences, fear and ignorance. Historically our differences has divided us rather than united us, simply because we lack understanding and tolerance. Misconceptions has fueled it's existence into long standing through, class distinctions, self identification, likes and dislikes and material possessions. As much as we can admit, we are bound by heritage and tradition.
Prejudice can be good and bad, it gives us the latitude of choice but it should not give us the power to hate, to transport or take away freedoms from others that they can't control. Prejudice is primary based on differences and disallowed concessions to embrace change and unlikeness. We sometimes unknowingly project our prejudices on others by being so stern or steadfastly rooted in self-proclaimed truths that restricts us from considering other points of view or to embrace differences.
Prejudice impedes our ability to reach higher heights of social conscientiousness to cope with visual, intellectual or physical perceptions engulfed by perceived thoughts of how things should or should not be. We all can be enriched by learning from others and by shedding inward and outer conflict when we dedicate ourselves to being a bridge builder. Crusader's chart new paths and bring people together nurturing them into maturity not to abandon self-characterization or identification but to understand others or that which is different.

Halloween Decoration

I got a Halloween decoration
It's about a man known throughout the nation
A yard sign with metal posts to hold it in
Donald Trump
Make America Great Again!
Do I support this man?
Of course I don't, tell me how I can
I am going to vote for Jill Stein
This woman makes me feel fine
I wonder though how can she win?
When only four tenths of a percent of the votes wanted her in
That is about 400,000 votes compared to 55,000,000 that won
Barack Obama had four more years of fun
I'm sure he had a ball
Playing golf, driving up health insurance, and all
How could we do any worse!
It all makes me want to curse
What the H@$$ are we doing?
Seem like we are stealing out of someone's purse

About this poem:
I put up my Trump sign yesterday and didn't even have it in the ground when a neighbor asked why a liberal like me would support a man like Trump. I explained it was just a Halloween decoration and later I would be putting up some skeletons and a newspaper dummy around September 15.

DVR

I love to watch TV
One of the greatest things to me
I grew up from 1974 to 1986 with no way to record
I finally found a VCR in 1987 I could afford
Then they changed my cable just recently
So I couldn't record for free
I got my DVR a week ago
Now I can fast forward without going slow
I can record multiple shows at one time
For the cost of 100 dimes
Shows I couldn't record before
I have waiting at my DVR recorded store
Johnny Carson, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert too
Family Feud, the Olympics, All in the Family to name a few
It is so much fun, almost as much fun as singing in my car
That I am having with my new DVR

About this poem:
I have really gone a long way from VCR to DVR. No tapes to store and a better image. The time it used to take to fast forward through commercials is a real time saver.

Good Ol Shows

Just a good ol boys
Never meaning no harm
Beats all you ever saw
Been off the TV ever since
They went after that flag on their car
Bill Cosby met the same fate
When he drugged a bunch of women
He was trying to date
Then there's Pepe Le Pew
Making fun of the French
Seem all they want is a fanny to pinch
Speedy Gonzalas
You gotta go too
Moking Mexicans makes the censors hate you
Just some good ol shows
Never meaning no harm
Beats all you ever saw
Been in trouble with the law
Since the day political correctness was born

Crazy,Crazy and more Crazy!!!!

Day after day the World is coming more crazy,
for minds so hard to handle and moving just lazy.

Religions against Religions,Races against Races,
with no Heart around.
Brothers against Brothers,Sisters against Sisters,
never to be sound.

Democracy as Democracy,Equal as Equal,
have no true meaning.
Ego building Ego,Self building Self,
is where it is leaning.

Politics trough Politics,Media trough Media,
brainwashing is the tool.
Lies more Lies,Promises more Promises,
very much to fool.

Leaders after Leaders,Governments after Governments,
have no quality to solve.
Humans after Humans,Souls after Souls,
feel betrayed and sold.

History repeat History,Madness repeat Madness,
memories are all to short.
Destiny follow Destiny,Fate follow Fate,
with minds of others faults.

God as God,the Book as the Book,
can not pay the bill.
Heart good Heart,Deeds good Deeds,
the only key is our will.

To solve the problems and get the peace,
I really can not see.
Perhaps I'm so angry and too disappointed,
that mind of me is not free.

Presence Of War ......

as the blood flows with fire against fire, Cry's of retribution fill the air ready or not pain will be shared, Cold steal put through the hearts of men. officers an Generals shall be put to bed .Carried on by a Dispirited hunger of total destruction well not be forgotten ,Legions of fear an the fight for freedom we hold so dear.

Saying It, Not Doing It

You know what we have to do
We need to take better care of ourselves
We need to eat more fruits and vegetables
We need to be nice to our neighbors
We need to bike and walk instead of using our cars
We need to elect politicians who really care about us
We need to elect a president who will balance the budget
We need to have police who respect all people
We need to get rid of all the cameras and the drones
We need a worldwide minimum wage that respects the dignity of people
We need to go to Mars and establish settlements there and other moons
We need to mind our own business when it comes to religion
We need to laugh more
We need to stop saying mean things that hurt others feeling
We need to have able bodied people work who can work
We need to quit making excuses about not having free medical care
We need people to not have so many kids who cannot take care of them
We need people to leave their cell phones off at the movie theater
We need people to leave their cell phones off while driving
We need to take the licenses away from drunk drivers
We need more love in the world
We need to forgive ourselves

Another Shooting

There is something really wrong here in America
All these people getting shot
How many times have I seen the flag at half mast?
Why?
The last one was five cops killed in Dallas
Why does this happen so much here compared to other countries?
I believe there are a lot of factors that make this happen
President Johnson allowing black women to get paid to kick men out
We had a higher marriage rate among blacks during slavery than now
Abortion being legalized in 1974
If we can't protect the most innocent, then why bother with the rest?
No paid maternity leave for women to bond with their babies
If everyone knows the first six months are crucial for good kids
Then what happens to that child if they don't get that attention?
Death penalty, shouldn't be any
If we are more interested in revenge that living in a safe place
Then we will continue to see criminals copy the state
Free health care
If we care for one another, then people will shoot each other less
I won't add gun control
If every dad would take their children hunting
Then they would know first hand what bullets can do to flesh
And never point that weapon at another human being

About this poem:
I could go on for a long time on this topic. We had a shooting at a plant in Columbus, Indiana on March 10. An employee shot his boss and then himself. We even had the top safety guy come out and tell us how to protect ourselves if there is an active shooter. Run, hide, and as last resort defend yourself.

Rabbit foot as Medicine!

Cryptic,cryptic is the word,
yes,if you want to be heard.
So telling openly and straight,
there are attacks on your fate.

To make everything as fun,
all serious are questioned and done.
Grasshoppers are singing the summer song,
as ants prepare for the winter long.

If you want to hear for more,
then you have to turn for lore.
We have to find the medicine best,
that's the only way to make the test.

Rabbits,Rabbits in the garden,
use your gun, they are the target.
No matter they are evil spirits in the real,
just slaughter them to get the protecting seal.

Rabbit foot is all you need,
the rest you trow for worms to feed.
Master Medicine is then in hands of you,
no evil can harm you, that's then the true.

No matter you see Rats around or in the mirror,
Rabbits foot as Medicine, take them all to zero.
The same if smelling poo around,
pay heed of Medicine and all is sound.

This is the wisdom of the past,
so for sure the Medicine can last.
Just take the instruction seriously here,
and never anymore feel fear.

Jill Stein

Bernie's out
So what do we have left
Trump, Hillary, and Johnson
Oh my!
Trump reminds me of Hitler
I've even heard Hillary called Hitlary
Johnson is better, but won't protect our jobs
And his running mate Bill Weld
Reminds me of the mad scientist in Tarantula
Or the old man in Pet Semetary
Take your pick
Someone about him is creepy
Jill Stein is a breathe of fresh air
She seems to really be a good person
Truly good people are getting harder and harder to find in politics
Will I vote for Jill Stein?
I'm still undecided
But she's looking better all the time
Especially with all the mud slinging going on

About this poem:
This election has been a lot of fun, but also frustrating. Who to pick? All I know is I've never regretted voting third party. I voted for Ross Perot in 96, Ralph Nader in 2000, and Gary Johnson in 2012.
