ISIS

ISIS
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria
Cutting off heads
Killing men
Raping women
What is Islamic about that?
Why do people use religion as an excuse to be cruel to others?
Why are they here?
I think that it is a result of our cruelty to the Iraqis
Stealing their oil
Taking their incomes from 7000 to 700
Leaving many dead or dead broke
1 trillion dollars stolen for what?
So a peace we supposedly paid for could be stolen in days?
We seem to be in the business of creating terrorists
Terrorism is what we do to other countries and to our own people
Is ISIS bad?
Yes!
But so are we

About this poem:
I have been celebrating Halloween since September 15. I used to celebrate Halloween with ghosts, goblins, and werewolves. Now it seems I celebrate it with ISIS, politicans, and the police state.

The Honest Candidate

Vote for me!
I care about me and the huge piles of money I will make
I get paid to send jobs out of the country
I get all my health care for free
While you go in debt just to see a dentist
I want to help the rich get richer
I support high interest money lending companies
I want the national debt to keep rising
So one day all the taxes will go to interest
So China can build more cities five times as big as New York City
I am happy that only 18 percent of 18 year olds vote
Candidates like me exist because of voter apathy
So thank you generation screwed for staying home on election day
I love Barack Hussein Obama
I loved George W Bush
I love them because their elections prove to me that anyone
And I mean anyone can get elected
Especially if they get enough money to get elected
I approve this message!
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

About this poem:
I get tired of all the lies candidates spew on their election campaigns. For once I thought what would they really say if they told the truth.

Haiku Challenge

Bombs blow up children
rendering our futures grim.
Love-grown peace yields hope.

Language

Language is a wrecking ball
undoing silence, sweetness and song
blasting out peaceful ancient cities living
along nature's hillside

Language is a hold-up
a stop in your face
violating your contentment
and sneering on your race

Language is a possession of
the once well tongue
that becomes sick with lust

Roaring out through the eyes
of its holder's soul
language is ego
hanging out of unzipped pant
growing like a weed
in a bed of down

TRUTH II

Democracy makes it easier for low life suits to set the guilty scum free
most often culminating in more families being shattered needlessly
I wouldn't suggest justice never prevails because occasionally it does
'Justice For All'... indubitably the most fallacious promise that ever was

American democracy first and foremost assures the relevant rich excel
and equally instrumental in our country turning into an un-American hell
Our Nation becomes less of an America with each passing day
many more patriots certainly agree with every word I display

Pretzel laws of democracy guarantee injustice will always reign here
apparently governments purpose is keeping society in constant fear
If they truly cared about our welfare like they mendaciously declare
they'd cut their ridiculous salaries which would help pay for health care

Prove allegiance to 'We the People' by actually acting on our behalf
start by limiting Big businesses ability to give public the shaft
You politicians are only about power and prestige and us you deceive
TRUTH is you know all are not given equal opportunity to achieve

It's unconscionable that folks are starving and living on our city streets
the wealthiest Nation could house the homeless and assure everyone eats
Here the rich get richer with no care for the indigent who go without
just another injustice indicative of what Americas' mostly about!

Pride

Pride cometh before a fall
the grave yards are teeming
with the proud and the foolish
The poor man rich man and the bard.
the sulky teenager, the grumpy
old man, all will touch the fire's of hell.
Sail on by under silvery moons and
Dante's sun, glow and burn, that is life
Bone, blood, and sinew, will smother the earth
we shall be one, the end of all strife.

Came to my mind seeing trouble flair up in Glasgow, after the Referemdun.

Apaachia little boys perspective

Our house is made of old wood Grandpa
foundAround the woods.
They were as dead then as he is now.
A white basin with a red ring around it,
Sets by my bed and catches the rain.
A lot of times the rain misses the basin
And drips on my bed.
My bed feels damp most of the time.
My little aster gets sick a lot
So she gets to sleep at
The bottom of the bed tat stays dry more often.
I hear people talking outside by the food trucks
About how pretty the woods are after a rain.
But they never slept in my bed.
I wish I could like the rain.
Maybe some day when my bed stays dry.

Officer McNulty

Hey!
You!
I'm here to scare the crap out of you!
Don't you like the drones?
Of course you don't!
What are you going to do about it?
Nothing!
That's what!
Cause it's 2014 and this is how it is in America
They pass stupid laws every year
They just keep piling up
Year after year you lose a little more freedom
Remember back in the 1900's when you didn't have to pay taxes?
Remember back in the 1980's when you could choose to wear a seat belt?
Just a few years ago car and health insurance weren't mandatory
You could get decent interest on your money you put in a bank
Heck you could go for a nice drive
And if you happened to go through a red light
There wasn't a camera to take your picture
Well I'm here to tell you
The good old days are gone!
I'm Officer McNulty
Not really here to protect and serve
Just here to harass and scare ya!

Connectivity is not what it promises to be...

Thanks everyone!!!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Posted: Aug 2014
About this poem:
people are more isolated now amidst all these technology...virtual connection is really not necessarily a positive human experience...the only good thing I get out of it is the fact that it shows us who's really interested in making us a part of their lives. It's been the best measure of loyalty and support I have known by far...
