Baby let go, please just walk away...

Baby let go
please just walk away
you broke my heart in two
I don't want you to stay
your in every song
and in every story
you stole my heart
and all my glory
i'll keep my love to give
to that right someone
I thought you loved me
now I know I was wrong
reading your little message
on my phone once more
you'll always be here
why can't I just ignore
what exactly is it
that draws me to you
that obsessive compulsion
to have my heart torn in two
I neither know nor care
for your words no more
I don't know if they are true
and like you said before
that is something
I just can't ignore
I want to drown in the sorrow
of my own self pity
but i'm going to get my boots
and leave this city
I want to sleep tonight
through all my fears
and when I wake alone
i'll hide my tears
got to grab my dreams
and all i can take
i'll leave your picture
your smile was fake.

About this poem:
Like my other poem on here I just jotted down a few feelings after breaking up with a girl I thought I loved, well i suppose I did love her, just she didn't love me as much as she said she did.

Angel in the dawn

My lungs cut deep
into the sharp freshness of the new day,
my eyes dancing across the horizon
entranced by the reawakening of the sun.

As darkness cedes to light
a plethora of autumnal colors
flows across the land,
bringing with it
a sense of rebirth

The choir of emerald
reflects the delicate golden hues.
Embellished with diamonds
kissed by the sun,
the leaves shimmer with anticipation.
A gentle wind brushes my face,
teasing my senses with its
lilac scented touch.

From nocturnal concealment
the predawn exaltation
joins my rejoicing.
Their songs alive
with the joy of creation
and their intrinsic concupiscence
thus generated.

The rouged pastels of sunlight
penetrate my imagination,
stimulating thrills and emotions
long buried by ignorance

Only the eyes of a child see
within the dawn
the originality of a world reborn.
I look
through your eyes,
my own
once materially blinded
as the real World ebbed past me.

Sleep well my cherubim.
Too late I realized
your wisdom and insight.
My shackled mind failed
to recognize
what majesty surrounds me.

Your five short years
of brilliant light
are multiplied
by my lifetime of regret

Remembering your last hours
how I promised to see the world
with untainted vision.
To greet each day like the eve of creation,
to ingest the vitality
of each new beginning,
so becoming truly alive.

The trembling of chill passes
as the suns
crimson fingers
surround me,
Its warmth enveloping
in creamy amber embrace.
I know you are here,
within the lilac winds caress
I feel your sweet kiss,
the dawn chorus resounds
with melodies of your impassioned heart,
the suns touch overflowing
with the warmth of your love

Though I know you are with me
I miss you in life
you will always be
the eternal inspiration,
my Angel in the dawn.

About this poem:
Wrote this for my cousin who lost her young daughter Sarah aged 5. She loved the dawn and could always see the hope in everything around her. I was always the pessimist (something that seems to come with age) and she the optimist. The brightest lights shine for the shortest time and her influence on me means that now my glass is always half full.

Justice 96

Today is a day we sit and we pray,
For the 96 lives that were taken away,
They went to a match and never came home,
Leaving family and friends still feeling alone,
“Why did it happen?”
We still hear the cries of the Liverpool fans
For the ones who have died.
But nobody answers and nobody tells,
Of the miscarriage of justice
That’s stuck in our heads
But please don’t worry and don’t be afraid,
We’ll keep on fighting until the right ones have paid.
Mc Kenzie you BASTARD !!!
Are you proud of what you said???
About the Liverpool fans and the 96 dead???
You insult one of us you insult one and all,
We’re Liverpool Football Club nobody walks alone.
We still can’t forget about the police on that day,
They caused all the chaos and still haven’t paid,
For the 96 lives that never came home,
Leaving family and friends heartbroken and alone,
20 years have passed on since that fateful day
When 96 lives were taken away.
But you’re never forgotten,
Your voices are strong
Every match day on the KOP
When we sing “Walk On”
So RIP to the 96 fans
We’ll keep this fight going
Until JUSTICE is in our hands

You don't even know me...

You don't even know me
and I don't know you
but you always put me down
and make me feel blue
*All of us are born in the gutter
only some of us gaze upon the stars*
But you make dreaming hopeless
and make the stars seem too far
your the kind of girl
that chews men up
and spits in the bin
you make being nice
feel like a sin
I hope this poem
makes you realise the person I am
i'd never want to hurt you
i'm not that kind of man
deep inside your heart
its warm and not freezing
inside my heart is bleeding
and your the only reason
now i know for sure
i'll see you tommorow
I fell like i'm drowning
in all my pain and sorrow
tell me what I said
to make you hate me
tell me what to do
to set my soul free
'cause I cant stand another day
of sly remarks to my face
i'm so frightened of you
I want to run from this place
what would I give
to see one of your smiles
i'd swim a thousand oceans
to walk a million miles
but the only time your happy
is when your putting me down
think how happy you'll be
when I leave this town.

About this poem:
I was lying in bed one night wondering why a girl who said she'd loved me also treated me like dirt... so I started writing and out popped this.

The * bit is a fairly famous Oscar Wilde Quote.

The Flame

Two hearts burning with the passion of a young love
they beat together in perfect harmony
their beat forms a song
their hearts form a bond
they bask in the unhealthiness of the severity of their love
everyone says it won't last
but they are determined to defy the odds
and beat the test of time
nothing, no one can break them apart
they're in this for the long run
they share the good, the hard, the fun times
making memories tattooed in their minds forever
but the flame is slowly flickering for one
the feelings aren't as strong, aren't as deep
everything feels different now
and no one knows why, there's no going back
the flame is like a candle on a birthday cake
ready to be blown out at any moment
then suddenly, it happens
the flame goes out . . .
and there is nothing left but darkness

About this poem:
I wrote this poem many years ago about my relationship with my first boyfriend. It was exactly how I felt at the time and writing it helped me release some of the pain I felt.

Eye in the Sky---would love feedback

True enlightenment is having nothing to say
no desire
Racing thoughts slip away as he inspires me
to see the extraordinary
thought it was just ordinary
yesterday

It's the ups and downs
that make us kings without Crowns

You and Me

Out of the dark and into the light,
You make every day so bright.
I always have a twinkle in my eye,
And not many even know why.
I'm so glad you are taking a chance with me.
I want to make you as happy as can be.
I'm so glad you are mine.
I think about you all the time.

I'm So Happy

My heart goes pitter patter,
But I know what is the matter.
Just waiting to meet,
Someone so very sweet.
Counting each day and night,
Until you can hold me again so tight.
And I just know,
I will never want you to let go.

LEAVE ME BE

Ouch, Oh God it hurts
It is difficult to breath
I’ve been torn asunder
I am wriggling and swiggling
Then held in a vice
Almost ripped apart
As the hook is pulled out.

I am almost dead
With two bulging eyes
Injured and bleeding
A pitiful sight,
Then thrown back in
Ah, that feels much better
I’ll rest on my back
Until I recover.

The pain is so bad
My jaw broken in half
Unable to forage
To look for food.
I wish to God
That I had died at
The beginning,
For I will starve to
Death now
Or be eaten by others.

It is a mystery to me
Why this is considered so sporting
When I’m lying here bleeding
Suffering and hurting.
Will they ever dwell on the
Cost of their deed or
Must they await until were
Almost extinct.

God made us all to be
Wild and free
And He gave us our rivers
To swim and our seas.
He gave us our feelings
To sense hurt and pain
But He gave man understanding
And dominion to rein.

We were to be food for
The starving and hungry
Not lying here dying for
No sense or purpose.

My senses are dulled
It must be the end,
Only time to say goodbye
To my friends.
Ah, it is so peaceful now
Just floating away
That is Jesus in heaven
Calling my name.

About this poem:
This must be how a poor fish feels when fishing is carried out in the name of sport. Is this humane?

she's dead, jim.

love like a vacuum cleaner

make noise when they turn you on,
suck up

keeping to yourself on off-white semi-retractable cord and loose parts no one uses anyway

occupy as little space as possible
in the closet,
dying quietly
when not in use
