Feast or famine

In times of feast or famine love needs to be examined
In days when love fills us beyond measure we account of its treasure
In moments of emptiness and despair we sometimes just don't care for the pain is a bit much to bear

We can go for a considerable long season without and meet love with doubt as we question intention along with pretty little pouts

As we rejoice in fantasy and passion of stolen moments
there comes a time we consider the mix of love and its unique components

Yet, often do we blindly fall into a lair of pretty faces so fair, we cannot always discern who plays the game better when we have to fold with only a pair

Oh the cliche we heard a thousand times what a tangled web we weave but, first we practice to deceive.

It's hard to find a love we can truly believe only we must give it a chance to join in the dance

Love comes in many shapes and disguises even with a few surprises

In times of feast indulge with care for as easily love comes it can leave just the same with despair

In times of famine we must
re-examine what is true to our ways and either rebuild or create something new to fill our days

The Quotes Garden - XXIV – Silence

"The Quotes Garden"

[ XXIV ]

Silence

“Silence.
Frozen drops
In a sleep,
Pearly chain, - relief,
From a snuggle;
So soothing, to me…

Silence.
I may flee
Wherever it
Takes me –
Eager to see
There, over the shore,
Nearby,
A grain of sand, –
To just lay my head
Into this cradle;
Yet, there is no sound;
No rhythm.
Just a white, deep
Reap
Of these crops –

Silence.
O, set me free
Wherever it
Pleases Thee,
Sinking deeper
Into the sea –
For that is the core
Where there is more!

Nearby,
A grain of sand; –
Under this beam,
How did I land?!

Silence.
It cures me.
There is no grief.
No pain. No struggle.
But only a deep,
Never ending dream
In which all stops.”

Who do you love

There's a moon abandoned in the eastern sky
down in the meadow they're drinking rye
strangers deep in a foreign land
shelter now in the shifting sand

The juju man carries sticks and stones
the women hum in murderous tones
I saw the one eyed man with purple gaze
call the wind to rise at the end of days

Who do you love
I said who do you love
Who do you love

The sun sank deep in the western sky
the boats upon the water ply
worry not this station's manned
singing songs of an ancient band

The mystic casts his tiny runes
in the caverns of the mighty dunes
you have to pray for pleasant days
time and time it slips aways

Who do you love
I said who do you love
Who do you love

The Quotes Garden - XXIII – Cipher

"The Quotes Garden"

[ XXIII ]

Cipher

“A, B, C –
Take this key
On a spree,
Little bee!...

Let her be!
Set it free!
Like the sea
Sings to me –

On my knee,
Loving Thee,
Counting three,
I am free; -

Turn to me,
Bumble bee!
Drink some tea,
From this tree!.. –

Leaves, with glee,
Crave for me; -
Pity me!
Raging sea –

Pray, to see
What such plea
Bring in thee: –
Love, to me!

Wee, wee, wee!..
Just be free,
Bumble bee!”

I Am A Wildflower

Out in the open meadow
Swaying in the breeze
I am a wildflower
Living a life of ease

The seed from which I grew
Was blown here by the wind
It landed on the earth
And that was my beginning

I am watered by the rain
And fed by the earth
Each of them is dear to me
My life depends on both

My beauty is free for all to see
Even a little child
I love the life I am living
I enjoy being free and wild

Life and love

Life & love
I do remember my first love
At sweet sixteen to seventeen,
I didn’t doubt my young lover
Until I realised it was all over,
Betrayed I felt to the bone
Moved on I did on my own,
My second was great and lasted for years
It grew in strength with laughter and tears,
Only ending in pain for us both to feel
I do know for sure this love was real,
Moving on to the deepest love of all
I did not realise how hard I could fall,
You left me in turmoil and despair
A broken man in need of repair,
We met again after many years
And enjoyed the closeness we once shared
The love was still there I felt it for sure
As if time had stood still if only it could,
You left the next day as you said you should.
I think of you often,I do wish you well
Too many years I’ve stayed in my shell,
Try to move on I tell myself,
Don’t be left upon the shelf,
Find someone new to take away the pain
I have taken relief now and again,
Once was almost real until the bubble did burst
Embarrassing episodes slowly got worse.
I can’t believe it’s 20 years
since I heard those 3 words everyone hears
Don’t take them for granted and use them well
For in your heart you can always tell,
Who makes it skip a beat?
And company is always a treat,
Who appreciates you for who you are?
And truly believes you are a star.
Believe in love! I still do,
I remember it well and it was true.

A journey we all eventually must take

Take care old fool cause nobody else wants to dig you out of your pool

Yes many will come to suggest a way some that may save the day
yet, it's still ultimately our choice of how we want to play

The old cliche ye can lead a horse to water but, can't make him drink
how often it makes us ponder and think

See how youth laughs and plays through all those lost and forgotten summer days

Now our eyes are old and dim and life is viewed in a haze

When we thought we couldn't wait to be cool and grown up now we sit in bed or chair hoping not to spill our cup

As we take our pills and eat the swill looking through the glass feeling like a stupid a**

Watching the world pass us by reflecting those moments of joy that made us cry
Even the sorrows seem to be a joyful sigh

The face we see counting the lines and scars though we wear them with honor under a crimson sky as we wipe the tears from our eyes.

Where is our reward but, to feel the reaper's sword as he prods us along that final path in the hope to reach the house of a mysterious lord

There are no promises in this life nor warranty implied to avoid the strife
Yet, we have choices and paths to walk and much idle talk

We may have had many loves and friends to comfort us along the way with many life's lessons, their value is never a waste for they are our guides and teachers in bringing us to ourselves

No matter how old we get or feel one thing is certain upon meeting the end of our time, mommy and daddy we cry for in leading us through the dark and uncertainty sublime

A journey we all must take alone though we are given the hope of a shepherd to lead us to his home.

Memories of our life may flash before us the good and bad alike those footprints in the sand we look for along the hike
We wonder who will be holding our hand when we reach our final stand

Will our folks and long lost friends be there to welcome us to a banquet that never ends?

One can only hope for such a meet
In the meantime let us pray that our lord will our soul he keeps

New Ornament

When I first moved out I spent 80 dollars on my Christmas tree
Tree was 30
Lights were about 20
Ornaments, star and garland about 30
That was 1996
I have added different ornaments since then
I try to add one new one each year
Snoopy, Simpsons, Southpark, Bugs Bunny, hockey puck
That last few years I have added National Lampoon's Christmas
This is the first time I have spent over 100 dollars on three ornaments
It has Clark, his wife Ellen, and his two kids, Audrey and Rusty
You connect them together with a special power cord
When you press one, then they act out scenes from the movie
Each one lights up as they talk to each other
The whole thing revolves around scenes related to getting the Christmas tree
It takes about three minutes
I can't wait to put it on my tree this weekend

The Quotes Garden - XXII – To whom

"The Quotes Garden"

[ XXII ]

To whom

“To whom
I owe such feelings
Bursting on our ceilings?
Shimmering, vanishing away...

These golden peelings,
Drying out the candles,
- When two shadows pray –
Weeping angels, in a room;

To whom
I give these gentle beats
Which pass beyond the railings?
There is a book with handles.

A red moon holds my heart.
Wide eyes, shattering a world;
Broken chord, for a soothe
- To where your fingers sway –

To whom
I owe a song, beloved?!
The flower of my youth,
In silence, withered away…”
