Bittersweet Memory

I kept this yellow ribbon to tie
It around the old oak tree
I wondered if it would make you
Actually think of me

I leant across the trunk today
Knowing that my feelings had flown away
All that was left was the memory

Of our love that which we shared
The momentary kiss to know you cared
The heartfelt absence of you not being there
Made my heart ache within, and I knew
That you weren't being very fair!

I tied that yellow ribbon to the tree
And left it to sway within the wind
And as it danced, feeling free
It pirouetted into a new beginning

It made me feel lighter today
As my burdens and anxieties went away
Dancing freely, like the leaves
That swirled, twirled, helping me to finally feel

Tomb Empty Room

Yeah Now
That's Where I Know You
We > Stuck > Him
And > We > Stuck > Him > Again
Don?t You Remember
To Bad 'Cuz He's Your Friend
But It Was The Best Thing
'Cuz He's Back Here To Send
<~ You ~ The ~ Only
Way ~ Out
Not To Pretend
We = Cruci
Him = Fied
While He's Still Alive
But This Was
Not His Demise
With Sepulchre Stone
Gone Now To Behold
Tomb Empty Room
Nothing Shown But Shroud
Or A Temple Veil Rent
'Cuz He's Risen Today
And Lives In
Your Heart

The Lover’s Dance

Barely your lips brushed mine, a whispered touch

Provoking euphoric passions, stirring desirous lust

Unleashes fervent longing as you touch my skin

Releasing veiled quelled ardour, crushed within

Gently, anxiously you take my hand and lead the way

To insurmountable loves renunciation from this day

Souls coalesce entwined in the passion of this night

Adulation emboldens concession or take to flight?

Passion resonates lost in a lover’s euphoric abyss

Drinking new loves sweet nectar, in rapturous sips

COUNTING BLESSINGS.

There are times in life, we delve into the past
Not seeking sad times, but when happiness cast
An uplifting period, that showed me a new way
To move forward, for those forthcoming days

Music was involved, as it set the real scene
And so recently, I followed a path I'd been
In the hope to help others, that is my goal
Maybe in the process, heal my own soul

Dance has been my life, seeing others smile
I intend to combine, within my experience style
So during our kiwi winter, I will share as I can
It's already past planning, arrangements in hand

I may not be competing, but an afternoon a week
Will I hope give others friendships, when they meet
Other who want to learn to dance, or just a place to go
Joining others I've taught, and the seed of dance sow

If I can uplift, those who feel isolated and really alone
To try some new hobbies, and other are close by phone
We all have a time in life, when we have to take a stand
Take a new direction briefly, giving other a helping hand

Music

I've been listening to music since I can remember
My earliest memory was Neil Diamond
Then there was Afternoon Delight and Rubberband Man in 1976
I really got into the groove in 1983
Michael Jackson and The Police had my attention
I used to listen to my music on records from 1983 to 1985
Then it was cassettes in my car from 1985 to 2001
I got my first CDs in 1999 and played them in my car in 2002 to 2019
Now I have to listen to MP3 on my flash drives
It holds over 3,000 songs which to me is amazing
I also have my cell phone where I can listen to anything on YouTube
My last song was OMD's So In Love

LIFE....

My life has been a progression, of what I will call
Projects and hobbies, that certainly had a pull
Towards interests, forming routes throughout life
Giving me much pleasure, rather than daily strife

So when you finally focus in maturity, what you enjoy
No longer sharing, with young friends-cousins-girls-boys
One can developed interests, become a loner of sorts
Crafts, dance and writing, just some interests I caught

When did I become a teacher, it happened over time
As a married woman I accepted, travel became a sign
Changes came rapidly, family almost lost, left far behind
One forges a new lifestyle, and a new direction is refined

When we cross the world, we rarely know how it'll end
When new strangers, become our now important friends
I wonder how many people, accept such life changing times
Opening up new horizons, somehow displaced of a kind.

I often wonder what my life would have been, if I stayed
Would I have had so many opportunities, that came my way
Or could it be change, making us venture outside comfort zones
Giving unexpected adventures, when accepting a new husband/wife...
Together to roam .......

About this poem:
as a young bride I accepted without much thought....what was ahead.....that in maturity, you tend to be wary.

Extended Hand.

Does an extended hand, invite another
To take hold, and so accept and cover
One that is wary, commitment will give
A new step forward, for two loves to live

No one can know, how it will end
Whether as lovers, or even friends
True love needs work, that we know
Often confusion, whether friend or foe

Love rarely follows, an even level path
Easy getting swamped, with doubts cast
Passion and uncertainty, a mix of turmoil
Like seeds sown on rocks, not virgin soil

For love to survive, it will need compassion
From one or both, forgiveness, not passion
A cool head, not a loudly beating heart
To merge a couple's love, before they part

LIFE OUT OF FOCUS.

This, a time in life dare i admit, I feel out of focus
A mariner on the sea of life, without a compass
It happens, but is it I'm just out of sorts
Or more serious, searching for a port
To rest up and take a much needed rest
Without feeling, I'm preparing to take a test
A place I can slip, take a holiday gain strength
Not knowing how long I'll flounder, time and length
Probably just a hic-cup, as I navigate my life
Accept what is on offer, smile without any strife
I do believe we have to experience down times
To appreciate special moments, to set in rhymes
Just around the corner, waiting to be found
Hope is a word, that my future must be bound
So I accept, the journey with hidden ends
Straight roads are boring, but take care on all bends

Spring

Season of Persephone
nymphs dance in abandon
to the will of Apollo

I walk the country lanes
rain falls as distant mandolins
awaken to a daffodil dawn

Mist holding in shrines
in the mornings it works up the valley
cherry blossom ripe

Juggling InThe Park

Juggling
In the park
I think it was three weeks before Easter
Walking in the park
I think it was below freezing
People talking
People walking
A woman selling Mountain Dew
In a gas station
Wishing me a nice day
Can you dig it
Yes I can
I've been waiting such a long time
For Sunday
Another day in the park
I think it was March 19
Slow motion drivers
In the Hardee's drive thru
Getting sausage and biscuits
And maybe some gravy
Wait a minute
I used to pay way less than this
9 dollars
and 8 cents
Listen children
All is not lost
Just some coinage
Just some coinage
I've been waiting such a long time for the day
