The tragic events in Oslo, Norway have spread a firestorm of media coverage on the attacks and on Breivik.

Very early in the reporting a AP reporter sited a Norwegian police officer that said Breivik spent time at Christian websites. From there....Breivik has become a "Fundamental Christian Terrorist". That was the first page title in the New York Times in a lead article on the Oslo events. On Breivik facebook page, he notes himself as a Christian. And he is associating himself with a group called the Nights of the Templar. A group that took its name from the Christian Crusades

Now according other researched media reports, Breivik has no church affliation. Has in web post condenmed aspects of Christianity. And his manifesto was based on the unabomber's manifesto that had no religion material in it. Christian pastors, including mine....are calling his murderous acts....evil.

So did the NY Times get it right or wrong?

There is more to be learn about Breivik but at this time this is what I know. But that can change rapidly in the near future.

I could post on FaceBook that I'm a horse's butt, but that doesn't mean I am.

Well said FreddyFudRucker!!

Anyway, we all know the adage -

"What's in a name??
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Do people who call themselves "Christians" and "Moslems" and "Hindus" just separate themselves from the teachings of what they thought they believe, and end up segregating themselves from every other human being on the planet??
The question really is, Do we *need* to *label* ourselves??
I thought we were all created equally. Fine say you *follow* a certain set of guidelines or 'faith', but is it really necessary to label oneself as being a 'x' or a 'y' or a 'q'??
It only segregates.
