a total waste of time..been on some for bout 6 years not even a date nor an email.......im just gonna give up is what im gonna do thought i would have atleast a little luck....
i use a dating site onlu for the forums and u can make many virtual friends here.but i m not expecting love online cos i get it in RL and know how much effort it takes even when u r seing someone everyday face to face.online love would be an illusion unless u meet in RL and the person u r meeting must be the same person u ve imagined which is impossible.ppl only show their good sides online.

Jeez, I'll put a few scammers onto you, just so you get some mail
70Libra: They work... but like all things in life, sitting back and excpecting someone to come to you is pointless... be proactive.
It's not even a matter of sitting back and being more proactive, but many people on many of these dating sites are liars. Most are actually in "relationships" or are "married." If people were more honest on the sites about who they are and what they're looking for, most of the sites would work.

I don't think it's most. Sure, there are some here and there, but most that I have come across are not married.

Not even a "date" or an "email?" Well that's very sad. I feel that it isn't the "best" way to meet good people because through this medium people embellish who they truly are because it is easier for them to do so and pretend to be someone else because it is also easier for them to do so. People still tend to associate interactions between people on the web to be somewhat unreal, hence, the reason for pretension and embellishment. They still feel that they can, and they actually do most of the times, get away with things on the world wide wed, that they actually won’t in real life.

Well when you read a description like that it is appealing and would be an ideal lifestyle for most. Unfortunately in reality the guy could be a jerk.
I was on dating sites for about a year, but had no idea that you could actually pass time getting to know people on the forums.
Since I found the forums here on CS... I've been welcomed warmly by most (I hope) and have been able to have fun while getting to know others, and they get to know *me* better as well. There is only so much information you can put into a profile, and, if I read what the ladies are saying... they don't trust what you say on the profiles anyway.
Whether or not it actually works, I'll have to wait and see. It does bother me that some have been on here for years and years and have thousands of posts... but, as long as it's interesting and I'm having fun, and people aren't annoyed at my weird sense of humor... then I'm happy to stick around for awhile longer.

I've been here years and years and have met at least 5 men from CS. Right now I'm not looking for a relationship but I'm still hanging around for discussion and maybe a hug once in awhile. Most of the time it's fun, laughs and in some threads, an education which I really like.
