I've been through and have noticed lots of others going through big changes in their lives - stuff that can make you into a different person sort of overnight - they are amazingly different between when your 8 and when you are 25 but they still have lasting effects - which were your most memorable?

Have to say trish the biggest change in my life came at 32... the day my mum died... life went from being one way to another... not all necessarily sad i dont mean that just major major change... there are things i have acheived now that i wouldnt have done had she been alive to now. .and i know she would be proud.. x..
My first biggest change was when i move in with my gran to mind her, she was 80 and i was only 11 but i learnt more in the 9 years i had with my gran than my whole life with my mother......then the next biggest change was when my husband died and i had to help our 8 kids and me to come to terms with it........so far so good we have done well .......

The biggest for me was when I was scared enough to learn to be tough!

I know what you mean about not necessarily sad, but major upheavals really do change us dont they - no matter at what age - its funny isnt how stuff affects people differently....

The biggest changes took place a long time ago...when i was a sweet lil girl with the most innocent look in the world( so my mom used to say lol). There was a period in my life when many people i loved( my grandparents, my grand grand mother, some very good friends of mine) died nearly in the same time. It was for the first time i felt the bitter taste of suffering and i can say it changed me for a lifetime...I still remember them and miss them and keep asking myself what's the use of death since it causes so much pain...
2catchastar: I still have my little moments of fear, but I seem to be able to come out fighting it. Now if I could just learn to ignore what gets me that way.
Yep - for sure, its the adventure thats important
believing in yourself is your top best friend 90% of the time

dont get me wrong it was devastating and still is... i miss her as much now as i did then but there are things i wouldnt have done had she been alive and am proud of myself for stepping out on my own . putting my fears aside and going for it... guess she taught me very well... x

I remember a time like that too and then I came to a place where I decided it was my own way of looking at these things that was causing my pain - now, I revel in the achievements of the lives of people who die - that was possibly one of my growing up bits..........
StressFree: Dr Phil would define this as life defining moments....
A life defining moment (it really clicked in a single memorable moment) that changed everything for me was when I finally understood that my heart was more valuable than how well I "performed" for everyone (jumping through the hoops of life, ugh). Wish I'd of figured that out before I was 40...but better late than never, aye?
