Video Profiles... (19)
Tamarory: Hey, didn't know what area to put this under... but just wondering who out there thinks video intros are the way forward?? i uploaded a video of me, i suppose in a way to prove that i was a genuinely real person.. i understand not everyone has a webcam or camera to record one.. but i personally would like to see a few more uploaded onto profiles?? but why not?? i cant possibly see any cons with people not doing so.. surely it can only improve their chances of finding somebody??

Video photos {and Audio} are the wave of the future. It’s difficult for someone to post a fake profile or scam someone when they have to prove themselves in a video. If you go on some Russian dating websites, it’s almost mandatory to post a personal introduction video to be allowed on the website.
Much has to do with Economics in many Countries as to the affordability of a webcam for an individual. The dating website must also have the technology to produce the video…costly.

Thanks for the info Tamarory. I’ll try to receive the video again. I missed that I could link the video to youtube. I was surprised also at the number of votes against. I voted for…polls can start that way and people catch up with them when they have time…the end of the poll is sometimes different from the beginning.

it should work, as far as i know, youtube works on any computer! even iphones and all that jazz, so it's surely the best place to upload the video..
and yes! you're spot on, the poll results look a little more different now, 60/40 in favour of for.. still don't see any peoples getting their videos up though!! or post here if you already did!

I voted "for", not because I like my photos and videos being out there (especially on YouTube), but because I like to watch videos of all kinds. I would love to see videos of the lovely ladies on CS. However, you mention uploading videos. You are assuming that people are computer literate, but I am almost completely computer illiterate. My lack of computer skills is legendary on CS. It would be a hilarious exercise of frivolity and futility to watch me try to upload a video to the internet.

This is one of most honest and accurate replies that I have seen on CS. We all aren’t as computer skilled as others…it’s a learning curve for many of us if we want to. A person has to have the time and will for continuous improvement; otherwise they stay stuck in their old ways.
I’m all for anyone who takes the time to post a personal video. It might move others to do the same.

Yeah, I liked the idea, but... I'd worry about scammers stealing the video and using it to pretend to be you to hook up anyone in order to do their nefarious schemes...
Maybe it's only a small thing... I don't know... might test it out and see how it goes, who knows, might work. If so, then I'll try. But I don't see how a deaf can speak very well that a hearing lady might like... might be she like s al lof me, but one she don't like, my voice, who knows! I have no illusions about myself... I simply wants a fair chance to find a good woman, a decent woman... one who's not into booze and drugs and wilding out there... (sighs)...

I voted "For" too. I don´t think it can be useful for me but also I see no bad in doing that at all. I´m not shy so I can try and make a video just saying hello.
