sweetie, i was kinda obliged to like a dog when i was 6/7...they use to do all tricks to put us together when i was still scared, result: i just got frightened all the time...those adults around me were not nice
So, i'm semi traumatized, but can still feel better with a dog instead

helloo ...Personally, i feel it limits the freedom of another living soul . Well , again this is conceived differently by different people depending on their beliefs and ideology. Plus i feel they were born to be free and live like that .
There are people who take excellent care of their pets and they are like family members to them but there are people who act indifferent too so it just makes me sad on the whole.

Well, I like wild animals to be wild, but I believe cats and dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years and rely on us and are happy, if treated well, being part of their human family....
I don't like the idea of keeping birds in cages and fish in tanks, etc....or other wild things in cages and zoos, but dogs and cats are domestic animal...for thousands of years...and no longer meant to be free..that's how I see it...

hmm .. true. Even i feel similarly about fish tanks and cages though fishes do fascinate me ... somehow it makes me feel they are missing something that belongs to them within the limits we have set .

Absolutely, I feel a similar way about fish in tanks as birds in cages....it limits their freedom and keeps them from the life they are meant to have.....
We humans can be so cruel....
