Personally I think Graham Parket is way better than Elvis Costello even though Costello will probably win this poll solely because most people aren't familiar with Graham Parker.
copy of a comment from a youtube fan "One of the greatest albums of all time..... yet most people say 'who?' It just goes to show great music is for the evolved among us!" I couldn't have said it better.
I’ll go for G.P…. I’ve spent more time over the years listening to his albums than I have Elvis’s. And I never got to see Elvis live … except briefly through a closed glass door at Sheffield Poly, mid seventies.
I first saw G.P. supporting Thin Lizzy at Sheffield Uni. 5th.March ’76 and again headlining the next two years – 16th. March ’77 at Sheffield City Hall and 28th.April ’78 at Sheffield Uni.
The ’77 gig was particularly memorable, the support act being the excellent Southside Johnny And The Asbury Jukes…. a great bill!
Graham Parker And The Rumour…. An excellent live band and all their albums are good.
They are both moody musicians sooo for me, it depends what kinda mood Im in. I know sometimes a good shot of Elvis C is just what I need and fits the mood Im in. Its like classical, you cant ask whos better Bach or Mozart, its all according to the mood your in.

I know what you're saying. My hidden agenda was to expose GP to people who may not be familiar with him. As I recall they both came on the scene at around the same time and I was really blown away by GP, Costello, not so much. I think women gravitate to Costello more due to his ballads. GP is more of a rocker though he did make a few moving ballads like "Black Honey".

I don't know this song by GP so that was interesting, thanks
