What do u think are the chances a long distance relationship succeeds? (5)
Well, I have had the chance of two long distance relationships in my life, and unfortunately neither of them worked out, although I was pretty young at the time.
I am very open minded, and in fact sometimes feel that I would feel more at home in another country!
However, when you have family ties...especially elderly family members, and money restrictions etc they really take away any chances you may have of moving abroad. I am an old romantic fool, but I am also a realist.
Regarding experiences on this site...well, I have been on here about 2.5 years now, and have unfortunately seen a few hearts broken from friends trying to make a long distance relationship work. None of them have ended happily. It's family, employment, money, health etc that get in the way.
If they ever invent a Star Trek-like teleportation system, then I would probably jump at the chance!

I have just a peer who had succeeded a 4-year long distance relationship. She was reporting her every moment activity to her fiance who was then in the US thru calls or SMS. She wakes up early in the morning to join her fiance watching football online. They eat together in front of the computer and etc. I salute this lady. Thus, the guy came back here for work and to be with her.
I also have a friend. She will be getting married this June. She met the guy thru a friend when they had their vacation. They were just together for a week.
Maybe it's hard but the most important was you were used to be together to know each other. And it's no longer quite important how long you've known each other but how you understand your feeling and respect for each other.
In fact, i am not into this online dating but i am just taking chances of the possibilities. But more importantly i enjoy having short chit chat with honest and not so honest people.
