Love at first sight or the old admonition of lust at first sight. Me personally, I believe in love at first sight because I have learn't and experienced that almost anything is possible.

..does that apply....regards...being drunk....or sober......alcohol can change things....you know......
Absolutely!! I even had the good fortune of Marrying one..!! There are a half-dozen...Here...that I'd marry On-the-spot... if one would only make the minor effort of replying and showing the 'interest' displayed in her profile! Unfortunately...too many are of the opinion that 'Long-distance-relationships' just don't work... Without even Considering that ~Distance isn't _Necessarily_ Permanent~..!!

That´s an interesting concept. Are you saying any woman eagerly looking for someone should be replying to you in particular? Or may be they were mentioning YOU in their profile!!

Lust at first sight. The lust turns into genuine love as respect, love, trust, support and understanding deepens as the relationship goes by. Also, love is known after a couple has managed every conceivable adversity.
How can you love a person you don't know upon first sight? To me, that's a myth. It's lust or some kind of connection from another lifetime.
Imagine all the people that believed in love at first sight, then ended their relationships in tragic ways - then they assert that it wasn't love, but rather, their weakness of being vulnerable and their fear of being alone.
Of course, those who do believe that it was love at first sight and ended up staying together for a lifetime, who is to tell them wrong - though I do strongly believe it was lust/connection at first sight - and that they managed their relationships like mature people.

I was about 15 yrs old. I went with a friend of mine to visit a friend of hers. While all 3 of us stood in the entrance hall of the house of the girl we were visiting a young man came down the stairs. Our eyes locked. Time stood still. The wall receded. My friends disappeareed into nothingness. There was just him and me and white light all around us. I have no idea how long we stood there. I can´t remember how we both came round to. I was in a bit of adaze for next few hours. But next day my friend confirmed I hadn´t imagined the whole thing. Her friends brother and me started going out together. I can´t remember how long for now. It wasn´t just lust as we only ever kissed and held hands even though he was a bit older than me. I broke it off after he told me him and his friends used to break into chuches and steal the money from the donation boxes (and still found it amusing). I remember feeling really disappointed at his lack of integrity. End of love story.
In my humble opinion, love at first sight does not exist. How can you love someone before you actually know what makes them tick? To me, true love is a mixture of respect, appreciation, trust, lust, chemistry, etc. When you first see someone, sight is all you have to go on. If that person were covered head to toe and you could not see anything at all, would you still feel love or it would it just be another person. Ask yourself that question and truly analyze how you feel. Doing this should give you the answer.

Not exactly....I'm saying that I found their profile Very much to my liking, and if they receive a Note of Admiration, they should take it Seriously... and IF they find my profile interesting, to consider the potential..and possibilities of an LTR... Without letting the triviality of ~Distance~ be the determining factor in whether or not to reply and discuss it!
I abolutely believe in Love at First Sight ( and not Lust ) last time I was window shopping in a mall ... I suddenly saw in one shop ... a bag, wonderful bag! I fell in love and ... now I am in red but what don´t you do for sincere love

Clearer..??
Super clear!!!
The thing is people can CHOOSE whether to get involved in a LDR or not.
Me personally, I choose NOT to. Not because I wouldn´t take "the message of admiration" seriously, not at all. For personal reasons which are no reflection on the person contacting me, and only a reflection on my choice for reasons which are real to me. I imagine each person who chooses not to get involved in a LDR has their own valid reasons.

For someone only looking for: Talk / E-mail / Pen-Pal . . . You won't GET many serious offers...
I'm referring to women that are looking for: Dating / LTR / Marriage / ...etc... That would get The Interest of men that are seeking them...

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Mr !!! My settings have not always been on talk/e-mail/pen-pal .... I should have used the past tense reffering to when my settings were on dating or LTR. My answer applies to that time and will continue to apply when I decide to change them again.
Oh! Well! .. That's different! We all have our ~standards~ to go by... I just hope to find someone willing to discuss the potential... before they *SLAM* the door...without giving it a fair chance! I'm waiting for Just that Lady....who should be returning from her grandsons ball game...shortly! Fingers Crossed..!!

You are either being obtus or your ego can´t handle the fact some women already know what sort of relationship they want and won´t change it ... not even for YOU!!
No, I don't believe in love at first site... However, I do believe in finding real love on-line(just got married after meeting a member 2 yrs. ago online, met in person 3 times since then). He is the kindest, most considerate man I could have ever hoped to meet, and we have loads of fun together...
Best wishes... and be sure to get to know the person b/f you take "the plunge"!

However ... Good luck with "just that Lady"!!!
Not obtuse...and no ego involved... just disappointed that so many potential Great Catches won't even Discuss ~Terms~ for a -Short-term~long-distance relationship...that might just be the 'Mr. Right' they've been advertising for..!!
