Who ever isnt at work i think has the job of most of the housework and that could be male or female i think thats fair,if you both work then it should be shared who ever is better at whatever it is.Then at the weekends the housework should be ignored and you should both get of and do something exciting.

o I absolutely believe chores should be shared. Why should the responsibility fall on just one person when it takes both parties to mess it up?!?

The only reason I chose "depends on the situation" was because what about those Master and submissive relationships? xD Just saying.
Other than that, I believe all individuals should have fair amounts of chores. But then, you must realize that there are indeed relationships out in this world where both people are fine with a 1950's sort of deal. (Woman maintains the home while the hubby is off at a job), could be the other way around, of course. It all depends on how both of them feel. :) Everyone's different. I don't see a problem as long as both people are happy with the arrangement.

I think people should share the load no matter what it is. Cooking, cleaning, minding the children, bringing home the bacon, its all part of the package, and if its a real relationship, then its a PARTNERSHIP, not a division of labor.

I agree! Also think the partner with the fewer work hours per week in a paid outside job should pick up a little more - but also that whatever arrangement works for the pair is fine as long as both are happy! if both are giving 100% that is a good sign!

my parents are long gone but the values they gave as i was growing up is everyone clean up their own mess. if you do not make work, then there is less to have to divide,clean as you live,don't let it pile up. have a great day-evening-morning,man this international thingy has got me going generic.

Yea, I tried that housecleaning gig, turns out my idea of clean was not even close, but i did honestly try! SOOO, i went out to the garage and put an engine in my truck instead. What i am saying is if you can do it then do it! otherwise stick with what you are good at!
