funnylovgal: Hello Sparky: I just want to say that I have friends that are doing what you want to do... My friends are both in Afghasnistan to build schools and open a hospital.... and also I friends that are in the same boat of going to iran to do the same.... I give them my advice and love and a lot of hugs
So if it is in your mind and heart to go than you should do what heart is telling you to do
I just wanted to put my 2 cents in
Thank you very much. Perhaps I'll run into some of those folks while I'm there. It's a msall world.

You know, it actually is. We ran into my sister-in-law (she is now) in Houston TX. My brother and I had gone to school with her in Decatur AL. We knew who she was because she'd been a cheerleader in our high school. They ended up married with 3 kids, but he and I had never actually met her in Decatur.
One never knows, does one, my friend. Sorry, my brother in law used to say that.

It's really strange when I think about the different places I have been and met up with people I had not seen in years or met people who had mutual friends. That kinda thing is natural here in Alabama though, especially with family members..

Sparky55: After considering this for several months I applied for a position in late November. I have received an acceptance and if all goes well I will be leaving in Feb/March.
I just wanted to say thanks to all those that provided input on this even though I ultimately went against the majority of poll responses. No one has ever accused me of being exceedingly bright.
Seriously, I feel what I am doing is right and I really do appreciate the input.
Good for you Jerry, well done.... please, please be safe (I know... I worry too much but that's because I care)
