Tangerino: I was wondering about this, would be nice to know if this method of communication is still in use... what do you think ?
huh, I think it was back in 1989/90 maybe even 1991 and since I`ve got a terrible handwriting ,they are still considering the idea of having made the discovery of the century... hieroglyphics written on paper...

hieroglyphics, eh? lol... I think I wrote the last one in the 90's also, seems to be a thing of the past for sure. I hope when they make this marvellous discovery that they give you the recognition you deserve :)

Not sure when it was, but, I am pretty sure it started
Sunnydaze14: You mean, like, paper, that stuff? and a stamp that you lick?
I heard about them..........way back in the old days......a distant memory
Yep Sunny, lol! I can tell my grandchildren the stories about the good old days when we used to lick stamps... actually the glue on some of them tasted rather pleasant if I still recall "Oh, them good old days!"
I do send usual letters to my father sometimes. He can use a computer and internet so if something is urgent I may send an email, but we still do write by hand to each other sometimes. Also an older man in our house started to put christmas cards written by hand into my mail box and I started to do it for him, so now we are friends and talk sometimes. I suggested to some of my friends here on CS send me a usual letter but no, that never happened.

I think only now that you mention it...maybe it would be nice to receive a hand written letter in the post from one of my CS friends... or other friends for that matter
i think it was last year or the one before that...i wrote to my great-uncle in Croatia, age 89, +- few years, trying to explain (again) that the only reason i was not answering his MMS is that my mobile phone was an old can and simply couldn't get those dear old guy was so happy playing with his phone oh, he's still alive and kicking, they have a computer now, i just never asked his daughter how is she keeping him away...
Last Christmas Tange. I sent Christmas cards to my family and friends in the Phils, US and Japan. We do communicate with the internet and phone, but we still do send traditional mails once in a while.

You seen the price of stamps lately!!!!!!! But there is something special about receiving hand written messages.........not forgetting how useful graphology is.

I sent a parcel and letter a couple of weeks ago to my man in New Zealand.I love writing letters the old fashioned way. My man says its a lot more personal receiving a hand written letter and its something he can keep.
I do it sometimes while I'm out at sea. It passes the time when I'm bored during my off watch. Not much for sitting in front of a television or computer. I'm on this site for the same reason, simply to pass time now and then.
Back in 1972 wrote a letter to Nelson,i got a reply back in 1993,saying "Thanks for your support,i wasn't allowed to have mail at the time, only recently am going through all of them".

I remember the day well, my mother was going to have one of those avon/lingerie/tupperware partys thingys. So she sent out hundreds of invitations, STAMPED...and in ENVELOPES..and sealed manualy (licked by tongue)...
...Not long after that episode, I went to the bank and seen them using a small wet sponge to seal the envelope and fix the stamp to the envelope...It was enough to make you sick. So yeah, last year ago....
