well romantic films are often labeled as chick flicks, true. But the story & acting, photography etc can be quite worth the watch!
City of Angels stars Nicholas Cage a superb actor and he does a fabulous job. Meg Ryan is also excellent as his co star
Good romance films don't have to have the romance as the main theme - such as a film called Starman with Karen Allen - the romance is secondary to the adventure but it is a great romance!

Ive seen all those movies you wrote my favorite from those is The Notebook, but my all time favorite romantic movie will always be "Sense and Sensibility" with Emma Thompson ...I love that movie also Pretty Woman. The Vow wasnt that good in my opinion but it was based on a true story.
