I miss the days before political correctness seeped into all facets of society. Used to be you could speak your mind and say what you thought openly without thought of consequence. Nowadays most folks speak only behind close doors exactly what is on their mind. The thought police are out in force.

the other thing I miss - is this site when it was not full of threads with men who want to argue and start trouble....I am thinking about leaving and if I do I want my FRIENDS on here to know that is why
because this has become less a site where the men are genuinely interested in romance and more a place where they come to play out mysogynistic hostilities or try to trap you into saying something that can be used to paint all women with a negative brush - mainly just wanting to argue. honestly life is to short to mess with that.

Yes, it is really sad. Men are afraid to say anything to women out of fear of being accused of harassment; however now that the tables have turned I accept a woman who is brave enough to say hi first.
Question for the ladies: Are men who you say hi to first worth it? or do you find that one cannot truly know someone just by their looks and that you usually end up being disappointed?

I hear ya Felix...you're right ya know. I find the pissing matches hilarious now...used to bother me a lot and I can let it bother me again if I let it. I'd hate to see you leave as we've built a bit of a camaraderie. I can only suggest sticking with the topics you enjoy and take everything else with a grain of salt. When things get too gnarly and I feel I'm gonna blow a gasket, I log off and come back later or email a friend or two and pay no mind to the BS.

All of you made good points. I also miss going to work and seeing a thread on here that made sense where you could debate and discuss. I miss the clean joking around and flirting that used to be here. I miss not getting attacked when you wrote a comment that others didn't agree with. If you think it's bad here, you should see what goes on in the Blogs. They fight over there on a daily basis and trust me, it's not pretty. I tried to blog but they don't want to discuss.....they just want to make a short comment....something like Twitter..
