Neil Diamond had a great voice. Loved his songs, especially Hot August Night album. Haven't heard anyone mention Billy Joel but he did do a lot.
But the best male singer really has to be Elvis. But you really have to get away from just the movie songs that were just for the movies. There where so many written for him that he performed but it is his shows where he did what he wanted that really showed his talent. If you ever really listen to "Glory, glory" or any of his gospel singing, you will realise that he was someone who could put passion into his singing, not just to make a buck.
Elvis, Freddie Mercury and Roy Orbison were guys who could really put feeling into their singing. And I should add Bing Crosby, Pavarotti and Mario Lanzer as well.
