justjim63: Hi Guzman It's not that bad here really! we have about 5 or 6 fatal shark attacks in a good year here, compare that to the millions of people that swim in the oceans around Australia, then You'll see that the risk is pretty small, Humans eat far more sharks here though! As for crocodiles they only eat European backpackers.

The proposed shark cull was in response to an increase in shark attacks around the South West coast of Western Australia, this is only a small region of the state and doesn't involve the whole nation. The great majority of the population are firmly against any shark cull at all, it's just a knee jerk reaction to the latest attacks.
I don't know about cute, but they are an important part of the underwater balance. I am fascinated by sharks. I'd' love to fish for them, but I want to release them back.

I agree, I also catch and release sharks, I sure don't kill them.

No doubt, pools are safer. Not sure if in Missouri's lakes and rivers one can find an alligator or something alike.
