I dont think people always see themselves as others see them, or as they actually are. Have seen enough profiles on here to confirm that, whether it be the "young looking" comment or the "body type" option.

That's a very good point. I know that I look younger then my years and I usually think younger but my joints know that they are 70 years old. It's criminal when you want to be as active as you were 20 years ago but the body says.....oh no you don't...

Up until this recent bout with illness I would have said I was in the younger looking group to, as well as being quite active, at the moment am lucky to have the energy to log on here and wont even go there on the looks part lol.
ru4eva: Good grief, aging has been very mean to some people, yet others it seems to have spared.
Do you think its in the genes or the life we lived?
Time has been very good to me, as far as my looking way younger than I am. Like the other poster said, the aches and pains of older years can't be seen on the outside, but they are certainly felt inside!
I think the way people look is a combination of their genes AND the way they've lived. One thing I've noticed is how much older husbands look, compared to their wives. 99 times out of 100, the wives will look younger and fabulous, and the husband will look grey-haired and worn out. Things that make you go, "Hmmm...."

It's given to the life we are given too, the life before life. As an infant my life was brutal and what has passed on to me , is a life of independence.
Age is a gift and I am grateful for it, alone or single it is real and real is all I ever wanted.

I'm going on fifty. I've always had a babyface. So aging has helped a bit. I 've always wanted to look older. Now I'm getting my wish. I feel great, and now I have a gray hairs on my chin. Not on my chin, but in my beard. You can be young, and feel old? Or in my case, I'm older but feel young! The banana is still working! That's why I feel young!

It should read "and I now have 8 gray hairs on my chin!"
i feel good, i'm told i still look ok,,i don't have a beer gut, i still have all my teeth,i have all the comforts of my own home, but over all my life is pretty quiet ( dull ) which is a downer,
Is that a light blue or a dark blue shirt you have on? Just my personal opinion you are more than what you offer.

thankyou! I am surprised that you haven't!! I have had a string of photos on here for years - just recently deleted them because of some misschief on ANOTHER site

I like my life being a little dull at times - considering the alternative

I think I've faired ok.... I mean, my ugliness aside, considering I don't have any facial wrinkles, muscle atrophy or latent acne yet. Even my growing flatter feet, banged up knees and replaced hip, bigger ears, knife stabbings and bullet wounds bring out the best of humor in some peoples. I wish I had a head of hair again but that's not proven to be a big-gee, yet. My vision is better now than any time in my life.
Once I obtained my udergrad-degree and found satisfactorily employment I've been fortunate to have always had good health care coverage provided by my employers. I wonder, now though, what will happen once I lose my current health care coverage plan once obamacare gets into high gear.
I´ll leave other people to decide that. Still fit and healthy!!!! My Mum died when she was 66, so I´m reckoning on cramming as much as I can into the next 3 years....just in case
