montemonte: OMG.. You think if a man uses an umbrella he's gay. Holy moley, where did you get that idea?
Never can tell what people think. My ex felt that way. Didn't even use a hat in the rain. Household stuff was only for women. Once when our son was small he kicked him in the butt because someone said "he was walking funny."

Why are so many Albertans right wing homophobes with the IQ of a golf ball?

Spent 20 years in the army getting wet because on patrol we didn't wear rain gear as it made noise when the arms or legs brushed together while moving. I swore the whole time I'd never be cold or wet again and for the most part, have succeeded to a certain degree.
I'd take the umbrella any day over being a dumb assed wet guy who thinks he looks cool. My fellow paratroopers agree. We earned the right to be warm and dry and have little to prove.
rizlared: Men like this In China everyone uses umbrellas all the time, protection from rain or sun, Chinese people believe the sun damages their skin. Better safe than sorry
Sun does damage skin. So do other elements. I used to read beauty books. They all said to stay out of the sun. There was even a study where there were two twin women. The one who spent her life outdoors was severely wrinkly. The one who spent her life indoors was all smooth and velvetty.
