reolvine420: as homer once said, the cause of and the answer to all of lifes problems
As usual, Homer's spot on
I'm grateful I have a good job, money's ok and I can live on it with no dramas but I definitely live within my means and have a fairly simple but enjoyable life.
Well, I try to be good, two kids at high school, very expensive. But I'm pretty proud of myself, how I'm doing. Yes i have a mortgage(not a big one), compared to some. I bought a brand new car in august,(refinanced), much cheaper. I'm painting my house and going to tile all through. Never done it before but my old friend you tube. My motto is "NEVER GIVE UP" Its amazing how strong you can be.
Nauru is set to charge $1000 per month on visas for asylum seekers the Australian government sends there.
The island nation has introduced a new visa category, which it calls an Australian regional processing visa, that costs $3000 for three months, ABC radio reports.
There is a $100 special purpose visa fee for people who arrive on Nauru, independently of Australia, to seek asylum.
The Australian government has sent 381 asylum seekers to Nauru for processing so far, but the detention centre can hold up to 1500.
The visas could net the Nauru government $90 million over five years, if the detention centre is at capacity.
Comment has been sought from the Department of Immigration.

As kids we had nothing, I had one meal per day if I was lucky, youngest off five, the parents were to busy at work to notice, these days I still don’t eat more than once per day, it’s a habit you get used too? After 47 years, so long as the kid is fed and schooled, Yep I got the mobile for work only, I disconnect the landline unless I need to make a call, but we do have WIFI here,
There is life after marriage after all? And it’s a lot better than it was now! I don’t have to worry about someone wanting to sell my home? I don’t like change!
Anyhow, life is good, the mortgage is around the same as rent over here, so at least I am saving money in the long term? And no rent inspections! These days when the kid wants too hang something on the wall she can, although she still needs a little help,
wash2u: I grew up where my parents paid cash for everything, except the mortgage they had to have. Went through 2 messy divorces where the lawyers took every spare cent and credit card was a must. And hated it.
When I got married in 1976, 1/4 was for tax, 1/4 was for the mortgage leaving us 1/2 to live on. When you consider that 1/2 went on food and bare necessities, it didn't leave much for the little extras. Glad my wife worked at the time so we could buy a colour tv, even some new clothes and furniture instead of the hand-me-downs most people did with back then.
Now everyone needs to have the latest mobile phone, umpteen pairs of shoes (I have a black pair and a brown pair - what else is needed?) the surround sound 3D experience, a car that is less than 3 years old, and furniture that no other bum has sat on.

And no more credit cards for me
serene, i have a credit card now but it is a prepay one so i am comfortable with that, mai ex was always spending money before she got it and it used to drive me crazy, since i moved on from that relationship i have saved all the money that i can and if i want something i save up for it before i buy it, it is nice to know that i spend less than i have coming in so there is always a surplus, and not owing money all over the place is great!

snagsmoore: I do alright, I have a few savings options to squirrel some spare cash away. I am not loaded but I am not broke and I dont like to worry about money.
reolvine420: YES.......positive thinking is VERY POWERFUL
I think if I didn't have the kids to bring up,it would be different, I don't know. You always feel happier if you know you have something to work towards or for.

Halv0: "How are you with Money?".... sounds like a good line for sussing out potential targets for a scammer.......
I welcome any who wish to send me money or their bank details....
Seriously..... I'm great with my money.... it is a pitty that the government isn't as good as me....
"don't cheat, steal or lie - the government hates competition!"
One of my super funds from a short employment stint managed to make me a grand total of $73. They quoted the fees that would have been expected over the last 12 months at $58 but waived them.
But then added in the "Govt Fees and Charges" for the super fund as being $82.

But you feel advertising that we're single and looking to converse with strangers is alright for the world to see?
Money will not make you happy. You will. Go for a walk in an old native bush forest, listen to the birds.
Money means nothing, its nothing to be held sacred.

You are missing the point on what I had to say about this thread I don't wish to discuss my personal matters on line. There are a lot of scammers on here. Yes it is ok to chat with strangers on here there are heaps of things to chat about other than money issues I don't give out private financial information about myself on the net. I don't see what your problem is
