No. Cork airport should be shut down. The usual political decisions made here. Let's pump millions into an airport that's built on the top of a hill that shut's down at the first hint of fog. I wonder who got the back handers for that one.

Nope. Sea level is the ideal elevation. Shannon has the longest non military runway in Europe and is NEVER closed by fog. It was even designated for the Space Shuttles for emergency. Trouble is the idiots here will continue to vote FF no matter how often they get screwed over. Clare folk are not the smartest I'm afraid. Two miles of track would have connected the airport to Limerick and all other points. Instead we got a reinstated line to Galway that cost a fortune that nobody uses.

plus blood on their hands.that crash that killed 6 people.Heavy fog around the airport made visibility very poor and delayed the landing. The plane makes two attempts to land before it crashes on its third approach on the western side of runway 17.yes cork airport should be shut down

One could always 'modify' Shannon to more closely resemble ol' Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong...or , hey how about Lukla Airport in Nepal...who needs Disney world! How about Gibraltar or Saba Airports, even the one on St. Martins...more fun than run-a-way roller coaster!
Shannon needs re-vitalization and so do the passengers!
