Neither shorts nor suit. Smart casual style I would say. Weather appropriate long trousers and either shirt or polo. Not sure about sandals.

Formal, casual, 'Bohemian'; whatever the occasion, wear a loincloth, with a 'designer label, of course; Brooks Brothers, Saville Row, Ralph Lauren, whichever. The extravagant ones can come with sequins, lace, assorted jewels; can be made of velvet, corduroy, satin, burlap, terrycloth, grass etc. all in assorted colours and price ranges.
Neiman Marcus or even Frederik's of Hollywood can even custom tailor one for you. Some also come with a handy spear to carry around...all leaving you cool and comfy, ready for action...

absolutely! the best fashion is clothes you feel at ease in that are clean and relatively wrinkle free. Consider where you will be going once you meet at the airport. If you are taking her to dinner, dress for that

Something comfortable!! I had someone waiting for me all dressed up, and alas the plane was delayed for HOURS. His pacing in his new shoes caused him to get a blister!! I do admit that he looked good Warm climate.

Whatever you feel most comfortable in, but make an effort (because the lady concerned will certainly have deliberated for hours over her choice of wardrobe!) smell nice but not overpowering .....and don't forget to floss!

Just remember to be well groomed and look as clean and healthy as you can. It sucks when a guy throws on some clean new clothes for a date but he is all stubbly and sunburnt and pimply with razor cuts and a bad looking haircut and yellow teeth and groody finger nails, etc.
