jackxsps: Would anyone would go out with a man or woman if he or she is overweight?
What do you mean by overweight?
I am considered overweight for my height but am happy with my size. So someone as "overweight" as myself, yes I would date them. Someone obese however no I wouldnt, not the pc answer I know but I am not attracted to obese people.
I met a man on CS. He misrepresented himself in our email and when I met him I was shocked how overweight he was. I dated him for about six weeks and then it ended. Not because of his weight.....other reasons.
I had two pics of myself in my profile. The one that is there now and another one that showed I had gained weight. A man asked me how much weight I gained and I didn't even bother answering.
People can change their weight....but those who are rude to ask how much weight you gained cannot change their ignorant personality.
I have gained weight over the last year particularly. I have trimmed 8 lbs since Nov and plan to drop about 15-20 more. As it is something I am working at seriously, I think the only way I could date someone who is more than a few pounds over weight would be if he was also in earnest in an effort to trim up also

As a full figured woman, I can answer this question for you. Yes, many people do date a woman like myself and in fact, prefer my body type. Also, men who profess to not prefer my body type ask me out and seem to enjoy the time we spend we together. Go figure.
"Dating" is merely an opportunity to socially interact with another in the hope that something else may arise, be it a relationship, a lifelonglong committment, a friendship, a feud, a partnership, a vendetta, an agreement to commit armed robbery, or just possibly a night out getting to know another human being!
Granted, my last date with an overweight, bi-polar, dyslexic, seal-clubbing, communist, blind and deaf amputee who had just been pardoned but had forgotten to take her "meds" and had lipped off her parole officer could have went better, it was indeed a memorable date (once Homeland Security was done with us!).
To answer your question,....sure,...why not,...except,...I am spoken for and do not date any more!

You promised me that you wouldn't tell anyone about our date.
And don't get the idea that you done with dating. On the contrary, you should always continue to date your Lady Love.
LOL! I mentioned no names! But yes,...a memorable date! Lest we remember never to ride mules again, naked, signing showtunes, ever again! (Still cannot figure out how that attracted the attention of Homeland though,...)
Alas, I am done with "dating", which is the opportunity to meet someone. I am now into lifelong courtship,....waking up each morning with the ambition of making her fall in love with me all over again!

Kaybee50: ...who seems to have a few insecurities of his own. It has been my experience that those who tote a fine package don't announce this fact.
Meh... I could send you a photo, but you would just claim that i found it on the internets.
The difference is that i was dubious but went and met those girls anyway. I didn't judge any books by their cover. Im just looking for a best friend.
My issues?? i get turned down by girls because im the same height, or my arms aren't muscley enough. 99% of the time its mentioned on the first email. Things which are alot harder to change then simply being overweight.

I think what you are getting the flack over is,...well,...just go back and read the post you made that triggered it all,...just saying,...
And yeah,...underweight, under-musculary arms are a major trigger for rejection. Anabolic steroids will help initially until she realizes your balls have shrivelled to the size of raisins!

Sorry about that! I really must learn to read instructions more carefully!

Kaybee50: You're not sleeping Jac.
Good morning to you. You may borrow any phrase you want anytime.
Good morning KB.
I kind of resent the "Would you date an overweight person?" question, like being overweight means you have no control, or say in the matter.
If I swap the question round to "Would an overweight person date you?" I think it might imply a very different perspective regarding "overweightness" being all that a person is.

I agree Jac. I wrote, and erased, several replies, to keep my response civil.
It also implies that one's number on a scale determines the value of a person.
On the other hand, the responses provide valuable information about a person, more than they realize. They forget other people are reading their replies and may not give them the time of day anymore, even perhaps someone that is...gasp...HWP.
