Yes it does especially in the winter or rainy/stormy days.But I've learned to deal with it.

Íce cold winds whipping my face,-20 degrees below zero,-getting dressed up,and go walking on the ice of the frozen lakes...lovely!!!

Yes, the perpetual darkness in winter, up Arctic way, causes the SAD syndrome. Depression. I find Vit D does help.

I try not to let it affect me, but the lack of sunshine in the winter gets me every year. Each year I say that the following year, I'll go someplace nice and it never works out for the most bizarre reasons. I think I'm cursed.

I mean really it does! I hate wind, rain, snow, and anything that takes away from the Sunshine!!!
Just watched the Canadian Ice Fishing videos - Brilliant! ... It's the dreich, dark winter days that make you feel miserable, but I think that is only really because I'm not too active any more (due to M.E.). I remember when I was hill walking or doing a long distance walk in that kind of weather, and it didn't really bother me...it was all part of the experience. I think dark, dreary days are worse when you are looking at them from indoors. Once you get out outside, as long as you are dressed for the weather, it's fine.
I REALLY hope that we get some kind of Summer this year though! Been a wash out here for the past 2 years. Last Summer was "one week in March" if I remember correctly!
