Well CSers. John McCain pull a rabbit of his hat. Timed to take away the post DNC bump expected for Obama and Biden ticket, his VP choice of S. Palin has the media and the net stirring. She is the first woman to run for the Republican VP slot ever. Conservative and pro life. And is a reformer like McCain. So what do you think?

I don't know much about the woman so I shall reserve my judgment for now.
I do know that BHO is an empty suit who can read a good speech. I have to vote for McCain even though I know there has to be something better out there. I assume the people who would do a good job as President are too smart to want the job so we are stuck with crap choices.
ttom500: If creationism is weak or unfounded....it will fail the test in the debate at the academic level. But what many academics have done.....is simply remove it from the debate...to win the debate.
Not even close.
The debate in the scientific community has been over for generations but the religious community still likes to muddy the water with the 'let's hear the other side of the debate' argument. Which is disenginuous to put it nicely. It fails the scientific method every time.
Creationism, or intell design, is not science so if you want it taught, teach it in religious studies or philosophy classes.
I see her as the token female to swing the vote that Hilllary would have gathered.
I have nothing against her as a politician.
I just see McCain choosing her as a manuever.
And not a good manuever either
It takes two to tango! I don't see her turning this opportunity down.....maybe she, who is closer to the issue then we are, has judged and found merit in the situation?

Let me ask you something then.
Attend say a Catholic High School....OK? They have science...they teach evolution thoery.....they teach biblical doctrines as well.....
So are not Catholic student getting a more rounded education that public school?

Creationists want their version of events taught as science in science classes even though it's never been more than religious dogma or a philosophy. I attended Catholic school for eight long years and it's not something I'd like to do over.

But you've got to admit, getting that 3rd grade diploma for 8 hard years of work was worth it.
I find the similarities very interesting. both camps have a young inexperienced member and an old(er) experienced member. The difference is, if the president died in office one from old age the other from some racially motivated violence, who would become president? On the one hand you would wind up with a young inexperienced female hothead who is virtually unknown to the people. On the other you would wind up with an experienced, well respected, known person who would have no trouble assuming the role of president.
This is rapidly becoming an election where the vice president is more important than the president.
Right now! If you had to choose between Susan Palin or Joseph Biden for President of the United States, who would you vote for?
It has been assumed by a many that Hillary supporters were mostly women and it is because she is a woman and no other reason. I find this assumption to be false. Many people were for Hillary (me included) not because she is a woman but because this would have gotten Bill Clinton back in the Whitehouse.
I think the McCain camp picked Palin because they bought the assumption that the Hillary voter is gender biased toward a woman. I think they may have just made a very big mistake which will cost them in November.
The typical female Hillary supporter will be insulted to think that their vote could be won by such a cheap trick of putting a woman on the ballot.
no, actually, there is no history book that has record of that happening. The bible isn't history. it's a story.
THe romans have no record, that anyone has found of a man named jesus of nazareth. there is no foreskin of jesus on display in a church somwhere, though there are still 5 churches around the world that claim to have it, under glass as it were.
THe bible and science just don't mix, because one is based on faith, and one is based on fact, that can be repeatedly proven with an experiment.
I'm not saying people shouldn't believe in something, we all need something to hang onto. I just don't think it should be schools, to teach it.
Indyfella: You opened a can of worms there, didn't you? So all the "stuff" they teach about global warming, social skills and a miriad of other things should be left at home.
Well...global warming IS the lefts Santa Clause....
