If guns kill people can I blame misspelled words on my pencil ? (50)
No, but if we got rid of all pencils there'd be a lot fewer spelling mistakes.
There'd also be lot be a lot fewer pieces of art and design, fewer calculations, fewer love notes...but if we got rid of guns, there'd be a lot fewer...ummm...there'd be fewer...ummm...what do people do with guns besides shoot people...?
Oh yeah, there'd be a lot fewer pieces of paper with holes in them.
It really is a question of which we are able to tolerate: A wee bit of dyslexia, or our loved ones splattered from here to kingdom come. Its a difficult choice, I realise.

well, for one, they both are full of lead... secondly, the pencil, not unlike a gun, can only kill if a "person" uses it to kill.

Pencils can kill people if used in a such a way by a person intent on killing. Guns of course are better weapons and can kill from a distance, but it still comes back to the intention of the one holding the weapon.

I gun is a tool to make ones life better or worse depending how it's used. I can create beautiful sculptures with a chisel or hurt/kill someone with it. With my car I can drive my family to the beach, or mow down pedestrians in a busy city square. It's all in how a person uses the tool. Australia banned guns and the criminals turned to machetes. If someone is intent on doing harm, they will find a tool to use, to do it with. I'd rather have the gun so that I can defend myself, family and strangers from a nut bent on hurting others. Anti-gun laws only hurt good law-abiding citizens, and give criminals the peace of mind that they are not going to get hurt or die the next time they decide to do ill to others!

As it is certain times of the year my property is full of snakes We have had alligators actually sneak in peoples homes. Oh and I might as well add this some of our snakes now are so big it is a toss up on who will eat who. The gator or the snake. We actually a while back had a snake die because he choked on an alligator while trying to digest him. Not to mention I think I am correct on this Florida is the only area in the world that I am aware of where alligators and crocodiles live side by side. They both can exist here. I could most likely kill a human if I wanted to without a gun. There is no way I am going near one of the three speices I named off to get close enough to wring its neck unless it is holding my child or my dog. I guess I could try bow and arrow don't know how well that will work. Also we have bears. And to many other things here to name 
I wish I could say that the animals that run wild here are not to be feared, sadly they are. I am one of the few that pretty much get along with gators. So do my children and grandchildren but we know how quick and strong they are. I know it is my choice to live here. You see I have lived here all my life. So it is my home. I don't need no fancy automatic rifle I am a good enough shot one bullet will do. Since I am not really familiar with how others live in their areas how does one handle these animals in their areas. We have cougars to and not the human kind 
So you might not see what good a gun would do. I do. They not only kill but they also save lives. This is just how I feel about it. Not really up to debate with me. If there is one thing I know it is gators and snakes. They are not easily killed and gators love to eat small children and small animals. ------ This poll is Archived ------
