That would not make elmo's character a child molester, neither should it result in a witch hunt and have all elmo toys banned from a kids playroom.
elmo did not represent the molester, his voice was used to represent elmo. Unfortunate for elmo and more unfortunate for the molested. But it would be pointing anger and frustration in the wrong direction.

Maus...I hear you, fully capable of seperating the man behind the voice from the character...never meant to apply or place anger towards the character or the Sesame Street franchise...nor did I suggest banning the toy. Just pointing out that it's a little creepy to think about...thus making the "voice" a monster.
