serena123: Dominant in some ways
agreed with you, Serene... I like independent man who can take a stand in his own feet without being a dictator... a good leader with soft heart, why not ??? I exactly hate babysitting...
Relationships are suppose to be a partnership, so I think both should be equal. Of course, each partner has their own strengths in specific areas, so I think each should be allowed to lead in their areas of expertise.
The terms dominant & submissive remind me too much of control-freak & victim, respectively.

Well said, and I agree. To add to that, I need a man with a back-bone!
My partner of choice is both dominant under the right circumstances, and submissive under the right circumstances.
In other words I am happy taking a back seat when my partner is better suited to be dominant in certain circumstances, like when I am with her in her home country and city in China. It makes perfect sense for her to be dominant speaking the language, knowing the lay of the land, etc.
But here in Australia, she takes a back seat to me being not as familiar with English and the culture here.
So there is a time and a place for each of us to behave as leader / follower. This happens in every relationship and it should not be threatening to either partner to submit to the other out of love and in the right circumstances.....
