We all know about the goings on in Syria of late and most people know that the rebel faction includes AL Qaeda. People may not know that the NDAA an extension of the patriot act gives the US Military the right to arrest and detain ANYONE giving aid and support to Al Qaeda indefinitely.

McCain recently did just that..... I just dont get it. But I do know the biblical prophecy regarding Damascus in ruins. Are we running headlong into Armageddon?

Please comment on McCain or Armageddon I am not pushing an agenda I am just trying to understand.

I don't think ANYONE should be subject to INDEFINITE detention. They are ALL entitled to "due process" according to the Constitution! I know. I have a Criminology/Law degree!
But, yes, we ARE heading towards Armageddon according to the book of Revelation.

We are going to be OK, the West is going to put stickers on all the weapons sent to Syria [NOT FOR USE BY ALQAEDA] So we will be perfectly safe!

Most Americans forget that the US Consitution is a CONTRACT between the US Government and the citizens of the United States and their INVITED guests. It does not apply to non-US Citizens unless they are in the US and are invited guests.

No but there is this group called the UN who in order to try and stop another world war, drafted a group of laws they expected CIVILIZED nations to behave by. The US, by the way was one of those who helped draw up this set of rules. Now like a true CIVILIZED nation they are happy to proclaim, these rules shouldn't apply to us, everybody else yes, us no!

I agree if we do as they do then we are no better than they.

This whole Gitmo and indefinite detention thing has always bothered me.

I cant remember who said its better to let 100 murderers go free than execute one innocent man. The point is not to free murderers but to make sure VERY sure someone is guilty.

I agree, a few weeks of waterboarding is enough detention for Bush, Cheney, McCain, Rumsfeldt, Obama, and all the other war criminals in Washington.

I'm in favor of a speedy hanging.
