There's so much publicized about today's foods not having enough nutrition in them and considering that lots of people don't eat adequate servings from all food groups, do you supplement your meals with manufactured vitamins?

W5 had a story about those multi-vitamins.Apparently there a total waste of time and money. If you`re going to take vitamins then it`s better to do them individually.Of course nothing beats homegrown food.Best thing for you, none of that preservative garbage in it.

People who live in areas where there's inadequate sunlight or they don't spend enough time outside to get it need to take Vitamin D supplements to help the health of their teeth, gums, bones & skin. Also, Calcium is important. Some people don't always have access to the foods that have certain vitamins and minerals in them, and may eat only once or twice a day, so it seems sensible to take vitamins to supplement their food when they do eat.

No, I do not need to supplement my meal by manufactured vitamins - my meals are healthy balanced with a lot of vegies, lean meat and fibre. I eat nearly no sugar. In winters I increase vitamin C and because I go jogging every day I drink a special "jelly coctail" - daily, because I want to protect my joints.
Waterbearer63: I wish CS would take that stupid little ads robot and shove it where the sun don`t shine. So damn annoying.
I agree! I think a lot of people have gotten out of the habit of clicking on links of any kind on public sites for fear of viruses, or the unknown anyway. The robot is an alert for me to just keep scrolling beyond it.

Sounds great that you are outside daily jogging & soaking up Vitamin D through the sun. Your "jelly cocktail" sounds interesting, what are the ingredients?

Maybe the same thing or similar to what I'm taking in pill form, Glucosamine and Chondroitin. It has practically cured arthritis in my knees. Been taking it about 5 years now and it has not stopped working. I get it online, much less cost then the stores that sell it locally. I also take fish oil and a multivitamin that I get from the same online source.

Yes, exactly, very similar product. Just my Condrosan is for active people who use their joints in sport or in manual work and use it as prophylaxis. I think Glucosamin and Chondriitin in much small doses. Condrosan is just " national " name, in fact I am sure it is the same.
I am glad it helps and you can move without feeling pains.

The dosage I take is 1200 mg pills 2 x a day, as recommended. There is also a 3x daily pill available at lower dosage, 800 mg. I get 1200 pills for $85. A 600 day supply. It has helped most people that I know who have arthritis.

I already eat food that is recommended, my diet is healthy, the supplements may no give me more benefits, if you don´t need them the supplements and fortified foods can cause you exceed healthy levels of nutrients.
MADDOG69: My sister has something like this in pill form. Some blue coloured stuff is it? GLucasamine Sulphates or whatever...
Hiya Mad, sorry, I did not read your comment, so I do not ignore you just I was in a hurry, because I needed to go jogging What I drink is really a powder mixed up with water, jelly... Hope you will have a great weekend

Sometimes you need them. I had problems with heart palpitations and doctors did not find anything wrong, but these palpitations were really scary. I started to take B vitamins in quite large doses and after the while palpitations were gone. On the other hand, had quite bad experiences with vitamin D and cod liver oil - got pain in finger joints, possibly because of calcium setting down there. Vitamin D and cod liver oil helps calcium to be assimilated by the body, but for me it seems to go in the wrong places. There are so many brands, some are full of additives and whatever, some are good though. But you never know before you have tried.
