The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to U.S. President Barack Obama for his "extraordinary efforts" to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award on October 9, 2009, citing Obama's promotion of nuclear nonproliferation and a "new climate" in international relations fostered by Obama, especially in reaching out to the Muslim world.
The Nobel Committee's decision drew mixed reactions from US commentators and editorial writers across the political spectrum, as well as from the rest of the world.
Obama accepted the prize in Oslo on December 10, 2009. In a 36-minute speech, he discussed the tensions between war and peace and the idea of a "just war".
I don't think he would actually decline the Nobel Prize , so yeah , He's not exactly promoting peace in the world and stuff. Looks like a democrat Bush.

felixis99: IDK why he got it in the first place .... we've been at war in the middle east thru most of his presidency

Just... agh.He doesnt deserve it
NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: I revolted physically when I heard this. Knowing nothing of his peace only change
abcWOMAN: Many people were asking the same thing, when it was announced he got the Nobel Peace Prize.
There are many things in this world one don't understand!
GUZMAN1: Do you know the names of other previous Peace Nobel prizes?
Not nice people, most of them!
Conrad73: 'cause he was non-Bush!
.
Good morning to all and thak you for your comments!

Most of them?
I do not know that but some of them are amazing and have giving humanity their heart and soul, yet I do not think Mr. Obama deserves to have a Nobel Prize in Peace.

I do not know the names of all them -for that google is a friend- but I do know of the great work and efforts of a few and I have had the pleasure of meeting at least one of them.
I have been following the Norwegian government's recent oppressive policies and dictates. The propaganda they publish has completely decimated any vestiges of democracy in that sad nation.
And with that in mind, I think - as do most other Americans, under the leadership of President Obama - that it is time to bomb Norway, to destroy its cities and military, and to support the Islamic radicals that desire to free it.
With any luck we can liberate the people there, just as we have in Afhganistan, Iraq, and now Syria. Soon Norway will be looking at a bright new future, celebrating Obama's government there (and perhaps awarding him a second Nobel!), and we in the US will be able to seek out yet another nation to liberate.

Checking the list of Nobel Peace Prize laureates myself, in fact I have had met two of them.
One was Al Gore when he used to "walk on soil" I did attend one of his conferences that I did find rather interesting at that time (I was young and naïve :) on USA politics, economics, freedom and civil rights but he was campaigning.
and
"Rigoberta Menchú Tum (born 9 January 1959) is an indigenous Guatemalan woman, of the K'iche' ethnic group. Menchú has dedicated her life to publicizing the plight of Guatemala's indigenous peoples during and after the Guatemalan Civil War (1960–1996), and to promoting indigenous rights in the country. She received the 1992 Nobel Peace Prize and Prince of Asturias Award in 1998...." Wiki
With all the controversies of his life biography she has done a great and dangerous job.
GUZMAN1: Well, not most of them, but it's not the first time I heard people asking why have been given that prize to some of them.
This is not the first time I heard about people leaving planet Earth neither.

Not quite sure about my understanding of your post.
On the topic: I am assuming you do vote for Obama to keep the first Nobel Prize.
And what category that second Nobel Prize for Obama would it be?
I don't even know if they have a right to take it back.
I don't support what any political figure does if it's really and truly not in the best interest of the USA.I believe Obama's peace talk is nothing but hot air.

That is really the point Ccincy to go beyond the best interest of USA and to think that life is worth to be protected not destroyed.
