Pros are that expanding the DNA databases will not only help to solve more crimes but also clear innocent people who have been wrongly convicted.
Cons for me are, where does it stop?
Technology will improve in years to come, when will everyone's DNA material be used to look for genetic diseases and potential health risks - what if these information will be passed on to health insurances (someone might be unable to get health insurance or at a very high price) or job interviews (if someone shows a genetic disposition towards an illness, will a potential employer take the "risk"?)

nonsmoker: Do you agree with the forced legislation, without a referendum on such a morally imposing proposition ?
I do have some dilemmas regarding this and it comes to the question of "who runs the show" possibility of misuse will we be eventually replaced at some point

Misuse is so previsible as in any other database.
I distrust, but yet it's not mandatory giving DNA samples.
KNenagh: Hi non, just on a global DNA database in general.

oh yes, the government cares about us. We should also let them control our access to health care...
Ccincy: What is the Global DNA database all about?
Hi Cc, Basicly your government want you to register the base genetic code That makes you who you are, with them. Along with all your neighbours and everyone on the planet. Have a quick look at the links In my last post.

It's a major invasion of privacy. by DNA they can find out you, your family, type of medical conditions, and basically all other personal information about you.
To me, government have no business knowing any of that, unless someone has been convicted of a crime.
Almost all of the DNA analysis programs are controlled by private corporations, and analyzing DNA is expensive. So guess who is going to pay for that.. WE are. So we pay to supply DNA, and get controlled…
My sister was my brothers t-cell match. While we were at the City Of Hope in Pasadena Ca., they ask for many more drops of blood for the National and International data banks.

I thought we were already being controlled by our governments.
