"In 1974, the National Science Board announced: “During the last 20 to 30 years, world temperature has fallen, irregularly at first but more sharply over the last decade. Judging from the record of the past interglacial ages, the present time of high temperatures should be drawing to an end? leading into the next ice age.”

hey I'm still waiting for the ice age to start, should last 10,000 years - unless the scientists were wrong? how could that be????

What I know from 1974, was the contrary according to scientists
Earth temperature was getting warmer and warmer but on those days
thet didn't know about the implications this could bring to our
planet.

Our planet is a finely tuned organism, and as one interconnected system after another fails due to the effects of rising temperatures, there will be little humans can do to stop the cascading calamities that await us in the near future. Nature will eventually right itself, but the odds are against us to be one of the surviving species. crying

JeanKimberley: line up with all the environmentalists, scientists and find a few of those meetings...

just some interesting information - one volcano eruption produces more toxin into the atmosphere than one year's worth of car emissions - in plate techtonic theory the earth's crust is continually moving and the shifting....

the rain forests are being burned down to make way for gold and other resource mining - all at the agreement of the local governments - good luck with changing that.

so what would you do about that?

I am just getting so jaded by people that think they can make a difference in the fate of the world.....on a global scale....
it's all about taxes...it's the biggest money making scheme ever !!!...al gore, who invented the internet rolling on the floor laughing said the polar caps would be gone by now...they have grown in actuality ....there is a thing called weather patterns....if you look at any topical map, it will show 50 and 100 year flood zones....the reversal is true as well...

some people will believe anything they're fed....frankly, i'm fed up

Nature is ruled by cycles, and living beings adapt themselves to the changes of their environment. Except those who become extinct.

global warming is filling some people's need to believe in something , just like religion . Rising sea level ? where ? its no higher on the bridges close to the sea here . Yet we are told Pacific Islands are going under . Crap , some Danes were out here spouting "the end is nigh " all the while saying we need to transfer first world wealth to "developing" countries . What the hell has one got to do with the other . The threat of global warming is being used as the reason why we should plant our class 5,6 and 7 land to have a carbon sink . We have hundreds of thousands of hectares of state land in tussock that could be planted if the Government was serious about having carbon sinks . Global warming is being used as an excuse to do other things .

Global warming is a scam.
From 1300AD to 1900AD was a mini ice age.
Now its getting cooler again.
It can best be seen on the polar ice, it has increased 60% since last year

yep, pretty much what I think, I would say it's been exaggerated either on purpose or because it's not understood well enough.

There are people who like to blame every bad thing on humanity, and no doubt we have done some damage, but what is happening is part of a natural cycle. We live on a planet that is always in a warm or cool state. The last ice age ended around 19 thousand years ago. We are due for a new one,and since no one has a clue as to how it will start, only theories, then this is all likely a part of the process.

The weather changes are cyclic and we can't really blame industrialisation for when they happened 10k years ago.

The fact that the scientists faked reports to make Global Warming look like a bigger threat doesn't mean it isn't an issue, they just increased the numbers to retain their grants. IPCC AR4 was faked and IPCC admitted to it.
