hi every one today as I was sitting at the table for lunch leaning over my bowl of soup and thinking about how quiet my apartment seem to be and how nice it was. I never thought I would be thinking that! but there it was. when I was working I did all I could to avoid it but now that I am retried with so much extra time on my hands its not so bad. I think its my faith and my friends that make it easier to take
how do you feel about being single and living alone
I've been on my own for 14 years now, after having failed in two marriages and countless relationships. I am not bitter and have accepted that I was at fault because of my lack of consideration and honesty with my partners. Having said all that I am not lonely, I enjoy my solitude and freedom from responsibilities. Being a pensioner myself also Popey and having lived quite a full life, I have been fortunate enough to be able to fend for myself. I have two dogs that have given me a new lease of life and being on here has made me realise how many people there are, who need people and I too would love to meet someone who I could spend my last days with, one must never give up searching. Sorry to go on a bit Good post by the way....

"He was alone and did nothing but discovering himself Well, he enjoyed his loneliness and thought of wonderful things for many hours."

Yes, I like living on my own.
Sharing with a partner at some stage is ok, but I couldn't stick shared accommodation etc.
Kaybee50: Yes, I would believe you Mits. And I hope you have come back from your extraterrestial stay ok?
It was very close to the truth as i was working as a bartender by the coast area and it is another planet there. Other than some extra alcohol in my blood am good thank you.

I've been single for 44 years. After being on CS for seven years I finally met someone eight months ago. I think my alone days are about to change.

Hi Popey
I am happy with my life and living alone is not a problem at all. to share it it has to be more than “habitat”.

I am single, but not living alone, I have two children still at home, when they are here, my 16 year old daughter and my 23 year old son. But I am here a lot by myself, since retiring two years ago. And have finally decided to kick start writing by joining the Nanowrimo: National Novel Writing month. A project around the world, we are to write 50,000 words by the end of the month, so 1,666 a day for 30 days. I am writing at least 2,000 easy peasy a day! Having a great time doing it.
Another thing I have taken an active interest in is HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography and just learning how to do it with what I have: camera, tripod and software.
Bottom line, you need to find something that you are interested in and start doing it!! Don't sit and feel sorry for yourself. Start living!!
Solitude is not bad. You can choose to be busy or not, depending on your choice. I guess it can make you a bit selfish when everything is what, where and when you want.
