If they had dumped me, and forgotten me.....why should I wish them well for Christmas or whatever?? And if it was me who had dumped them, why open the wounds or give them false hope...that would be cruel!
search2014: Hi everyone, Last day of 2013... Are you ready to begin new year with fresh hopes and blessings !
I have a question...would you call/text your ex boyfriend/girlfriend to wish new year?
If the two parties have remained good friends, which is rare, but does occur, then, yes, contact as one would any friends. However, if the split was one of negativity, and the two parted because of that negativity, then, probably just move on; no further contacts at all. Sometimes it really is best to make a complete clean break, which means no contact, ever.

I may, I am still friends with most of my exes, and even with their new loves. So probably send a text to her wishing them both a Happy New Year, and send the single ones good wishes. But I wouldn't even think of anything else to say, they are an ex for a reason after all.
Like the other's have mentioned they are ex's for a reason so why would I? I wouldn't want to give the wrong impression that I was trying to rekindle the relationship.

Even though my ex's are just that and with good reason, I still am in contact and am friends some of them. Like Cc say's...life is toooooo short to hold grudges. So on thats note Happy New Year to one and all... and my all your hopes and desires come true for 2014.

ooops...may all your hopes and desires come true for 2014...my bad
It depends upon the reason for no longer being together and the severity of the problem/differences.
I'm usually keen to remain civilised and adult about things. Sometimes people travel in different directions and its not necessarily anyone's fault. Sometimes the gap is too wide to be bridged. Either way, hostility will only fester and harness you from being receptive to new opportunities, friendships, relationships.
I find it rather bizarre why some people so need to keep in contact with their ex's a boyfriend I had still chatted to all his ex's girlfriends/ lovers....it really made me very mad and always felt that it was like he is keeping the back door open just in case....
I feel if you could not make it work as a couple then why in the world will you still be friends????? I never trusted the boyfriend as he was always still chatting on face book or any other means and do not know why people do not leave the past where it belongs.
