Excuse me, where was I suggesting that? In fact, I was suggesting the opposite. I have 3 children, I know what 14 and 15 year olds are like. Just shows you how people can be misinterpreted on here.doh

And then there are the ones that dont hide their drinking habits but convince themselves they are just heavy drinks and not alcos. Excuses like, I gave it up for lent one year, or I only drink beer, or I get up for work everyday......So I can't be an alcoholic even though I drink every day.

I very much doubt a social drinker would post day after day that he/she had given up the gargle. It's no biggie for them. dunno

No. I am a social drinker and I can go months without having a drink. I don't feel the need to tell the world about it because it's something I expect most people do regularly.

Correct but we are just going to be chasing after unjust laws like this, which is great fun for lawyers, as long as we let these nut jobs dictate to us on how we should live. Nip it in the but and make provision to throw out the Feminists laugh

Masculism, the right for rights of a man, equivalent of feminism, therefore everything they say about feminists applies to them surely, after all they are only fighting for the rights of men grin

I was going to say something like "sure are we not all the product of our own experience", but if we are not to be products or want to deny being treated as such, is this not as good a place as any to display that?. Perhaps thats a challenge for some.

If one points at statistics where children from single mothers fare % wise less well then those from functional 'full' families, that does not necessarily mean one attacks single mothers. It could mean one attacks whatever is creating a society that promotes the destruction of the full family, raises men to have less backbone/willingness/ability to take on responsibilities, or maybe enduced them with a fear of binding to a female. It could even mean full sympathy for single mothers, who no doubt must have it a lot harder, often having to fulfill the role of the breadbringer and the homemaker, and could regard them as victims of laws and a climate where such is becoming more common.

Guess it could just depend on who does the interpreting of a comment.

I would agree, Tiny, that we should question a society which creates the environment where children are brought up without all the support that they are entitled to. Bringing up children is a hard job, even for 2 parents together, twice as hard for one person on their own. It should not be surprising that a single parent might be sensitive to criticism of their abilities and it has been proven that many are. In so many cases, a single parent is single because the other parent has walked away, rejecting both the partner and the child. It's a difficult situation.

I shall assume that was a general remark, fifi, and not you trying to hint that I am showing some 'intention' by sticking up for the rabble rousers. My views formed a long time before hitting this forum, and my above post was about opening up another avenue of interpretation. Maybe an interpretation that some do not wish to consider, but that does not mean their interpretations are any more valid than the one I have put forth.

I shall give you the benefit of a doubt that you didn't try to silence me voicing my opinion by that comment. I'd simply not wish to believe such of you *sends a hug*

And yes LadyBlackAdder, I fully agree, people can be touchy, and any comments on such situations should be made with caution and emotional consideration, all the more when voiced in a way that could lead to misinterpretation, but hey - that's where we females by nature should shine, while males.. ahem.. tend to have feet like elephants giggle

Is it strange that I feel that is wronging men by assuming that they will be less sensitive in their dealings with others than women? From my own experiences in life, it is not whether someone is male or female that makes them empathetic to others but something in their own, individual natures.

I also find it strange that a sensitive soul like you appear to be would describe it as being "touchy" but that may be my interpretation of that word. It brings to mind being "huffy" or "tetchy", not kind words to use in relation to peoples' sensitivities.
